Question:	can you plug it into a amp because the images do not show a jack
Answer:	Yes. There are 3 sockets on the back of violin. One is "Line out" (for amp). One is "Mic" and one is "Phones". The Included cord for the amp is a little over 9 feet and is decent quality. There is no static backround noise and my violin comes in clear. *In the stock photo the amp cable is to the right of the headphones.
Question:	How can I plug it to my laptop? There is a chord but it doesn't fit the computer outlet
Answer:	It has a quarter inch plug, look for either an A to D connector, or (more easily a rocksmith cable) a USB interface. Electric instruments are almost all the same you'll never have the same sound as an acoustic. But it will give you a unique and interesting sound. Especially at this price point.
Question:	how quiet is it? I would be practicing during my toddlers nap time and need it to be very very quiet/silent with out an amp or head phones
Answer:	I get about 81 dB playing open strings. It’s not so quiet.

In fact, as soon as my violin came in, I took it to my local music store (who strung my acoustic violin) to have him check it out to see if the violin and strings are of good quality. He thought is was decent quality. I couldn't be happier with it, especially for the price. When you first get it, you will have to re-tune the strings every 10 minutes or so while you are playing, but after about a week of re-tuning (and it does need tuning less frequently with time) you are good to go. It doesn't hold a tune as well as my acoustic...I tune it before I begin playing usually, but it does hold well and the sound is fantastic. You can play it through an amp or into headphones and I think the sound quality is awesome. Hope this helps. :)

The bridge had also fallen over (the light-wood thing that holds the strings up), but that was easy to re-erect. I found a free violin tuner app for my phone, and used that to tune my violin. The strings aren't the greatest quality, but they will work until you can get them replaced with a set of good ones. Over all, the whole deal wasn't bad. Just be sure to buy a shoulder rest....

Answer:	It is not ready to play when it just got out the box. You have to do the followings in order: 1) slide the damper under the two strings at the bottom of the python skin (I remove this damper afterward and the instrument still sounds fine, will double check with other erhu players). 2) put the "bridge" in the center of the python skin, under the two strings, make sure the strings sit in their notch on the bridge 3) tune up the strings to D (the left one) and A (the right one) (assume you are looking at the python skin) 4) add tension to the bow to the horse hair it taut, then apply the rosin on both side, this takes a while as it is a new bow 5) release the tension, take out the horse hair at one end (where you would hold the bow), slide the hair between the two strings. There are two ways to insert the hair, and ONE is WRONG !!! If you hold the erhu in playing position, the hair should be inserted such that the tip of the bow pointed backward to your left side and the "hand holding" end point forward to the right. Then turn the screw to increase the hair tension. Now, it's really ready to play.

High Quality Rosin

It's important to apply rosin before you begin playing your violin. Without rosin, you will not be able to make a sound. Answer:	I am a luthier and my wife is a violin teacher. One of her students brought me this exact violin (MV400) to have set up work done. Here is a list of what needed to be done: Refit the bridge feet, thin bridge blank, carve out excess wood from bridge, lower bridge arch for proper string heights, fit pegs and re-drill peg holes, lower and reprofile nut and re-slot string grooves, new tailpiece (cheap tailpiece only lasted 2 weeks before fine tuners seized up), new strings (cheap strings sounded truly awful, and started fraying after 2 weeks), remove excess varnish from neck/ fingerboard joint and smooth, and finally a new soundpost. The fingerboard was adequate, and I left it alone. The instrument itself is not terrible, and the pegs and fingerboard were of reasonable quality, but the tailpiece and string quality and very inadequate setup will have you spending an additional $200-$300 and I haven't even mentioned the awful bow, crummy shoulder rest, and crummy rosin. The instrument sounds reasonably good now after all the work, though at the end of the day, you still have a $100 violin. You really get what you pay for.
