14 best beginner violin with cases
Beginner violins with cases are suitable for individuals who are just starting to learn how to play the violin. These violins are designed to provide an affordable and accessible entry point into the world of violin playing. Here are some key aspects to consider when looking for a beginner violin with a case:
Size: Violins come in various sizes to accommodate players of different ages and body sizes. Common sizes include full-size (4/4), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8. Beginners, especially children, should choose a violin size that is appropriate for their comfort and reach. It's crucial to consult with a music teacher or a knowledgeable professional to determine the right size.
Materials: Beginner violins are often made from laminated or composite woods. These materials are more durable and less sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature, making them suitable for beginners. Higher-quality violins are typically made from solid woods, but they can be more expensive.
Setup: A well-set-up violin is essential for beginners. This includes proper placement and alignment of the bridge, well-fitted pegs, and a quality tailpiece and chinrest. A violin that is properly set up will be easier to play and produce a better sound.
Strings: Beginner violins usually come with basic steel or synthetic core strings. These strings are durable and produce a clear sound, making them suitable for beginners. As the player progresses, they may consider upgrading to higher-quality strings for improved tone.
Case: A protective case is a crucial accessory for a beginner violin. It helps protect the instrument from damage and provides a convenient way to transport it. Look for a case with a secure latch, a comfortable handle, and ample padding to protect the violin.
Bow: Most beginner violins come with a basic bow. The bow hair should be made of horsehair, and the bow should be well-balanced and functional. As players advance, they may want to upgrade to a higher-quality bow.
Price Range: Beginner violins are available at various price points. While it's essential to stay within your budget, try to invest in the best-quality violin you can afford.A more expensive violin is likely to have better playability and sound quality.
Brand and Reputation: Established violin brands like Yamaha, Cecilio, Mendini, and Stentor offer beginner violin outfits that are known for their quality and reliability. Researching reputable brands can help you make an informed choice.
Accessories: Some beginner violin packages may include additional accessories such as rosin, a shoulder rest, an extra set of strings, and a beginner's guide or instructional material.
Try Before You Buy: Whenever possible, it's a good idea to try out a few different violins to see which one feels most comfortable and suits your preferences. If you're a beginner, consider seeking the advice of a violin teacher or experienced player to help you make your selection.
Remember that learning to play the violin requires dedication and practice, and a good-quality beginner violin can make your learning experience more enjoyable. As your skills improve, you may decide to upgrade to a higher-quality instrument that better meets your musical needs.

User questions & answers
Question: | do u have loaded sound of the violin to youtube |
Answer: | unfortunately no. however, if there's a local music store you can go to I highly recommend you go and test some of the violins out to reference the different qualities of sounds then shop around for prices. I went to bills music before deciding on a stradivarius copy. |
Question: | So I have to install the bridge |
Answer: | For the one I purchased, yes you have to install the bridge. I don't think you need to glue it on though. It comes with a replacement bridge in case, over time, the first one cracks or breaks. Just slowly tighten the strings little by little and it will stay up on it's own. I had a somewhat difficult time tightening these strings until I figured out that it was necessary to keep the slack even on both the pegs and the tuners at the bottom. |
Question: | My sons are 10 and 7 and both want to learn violin. What size do I need to get them |
Answer: | Both the 7 year old and 10 year old can use a 1/2 half sized violin. If your 7 ear old is on the smaller size, you may want to get hima 1/4 sized violin, but it's very likely he will quickly out grow the 1/4 sized violin. |
Question: | What is the difference in sizes between 1/4 1/2 and 4/4 Am thinking of getting one, just not sure about the size |
Answer: | As K. Li answered.. depends the player age. 1/4 2/4 3/4 4/4 means the size or length of the violin. 1/4 is for 5-8 years. 4/4 is for adult. 2/4 3/4 is for age between them. |

Mendini MV300 Violin
The Mendini MV300 violin has an impressive quality for the price, and is a remarkably affordable option for students who have never played the violin before and want to try it out for the first time. The MV300 produces a warm and clear sound that is simple and easy to work with, and comes with an outfit that provides students with everything they will need to get started. Both of our Mendini MV200 and Mendini MV300 violins have the same specifications and quality, but they differ in the type of finish used and the character of sound each one produces. The MV300 has a mellow and warm tone with a soft satin varnish finish to match, and the MV200 has a bright and vibrant tone and finish.
How to choose violin sizes
Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.
To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.
If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

Question: | What is the difference between Cecilio cvn-200 and mendini |
Answer: | Si!.. Se muestra con todos los accesorios. Una pieza 100% original y profesional. Recomiendo el Violín asi como el vendedor 100% 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 Estrellas |
Question: | Does it come setup |
Answer: | If you're unsure of how to place the bridge back on, take it to a music shop and they will assist you, music and arts centers will assist you in the store, I've done plenty of those at no cost when I used to work there. There is a certain direction and placing the bridge must sit to be able to sit properly, please seek a professional for instrument care. |
Question: | The tuning pegs do not stay after adjusting, is this normal |
Answer: | This product comes with two bridges that are made by the manufacture. No name on the bridges. I bought this product and it is an amazing deal for the quality and tone of the instrument! I suggest buying new strings, the ones that come in this set are cheap and dull sounding! Dominant Strings are suggested by this professional of 20 years! |
Question: | does this item come with an extra set of strings |
Answer: | hi Kyle D...no, I thought the violin would look like the picture because the wood looks rich and the violin strings looks like it would have a deep sound to it. However, if you haven't bought the violin yet..good.. I would spend a little more money on a good violin that would last you a long time..my mendini is still in the box oh and the strings on the violin are cheap..thank you for asking I hoped I help :) Deanne allen |
Question: | Es el primero que se muestra con todos los accesorios o es el naranja de abajo. Precio es profesional |
Answer: | Only one . easy to use. |
Question: | My daughter was trying to tune her violin (she's twelve and just starting out) and the bridge fell off. Is it difficult to put back on |
Answer: | The top button changes the pitch: ie 440 (which is standard pitch) to a faster pitch and turns the tuner off and on. The bottom button changes the instrument to be tuned: violin, viola, cello & base. Hope this helps. |
Question: | what bridge does this come with |
Answer: | The clip opens to 1 1/4 inch at the widest. Don't know if that's large enough for your bass. |
Question: | Does the actual violin that will ship look anything like this |
Answer: | It responds as quickly as any tuner meaning you can check long notes, but not short ones. However, the center markers for pitch are white with yellow ones on each side which means there's little contrast to see while you're playing. So I think it would be tough to monitor your pitch while playing. |

There are two important points to note here:
1. The neck of the violin is white without paint, all of the neck of high-grade violins are not colored, otherwise the hands will sweat and slip when playing.
2. When tuning with the peg, press it inward slightly. Try to watch professional violin tuning teaching videos on relevant video websites.
How To Choose Violin Sizes
1. Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest.
2.To measure what size violin best suits you. You need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use.
Learning Finger Guide
Innovative use of finger plates inlaid with muscovite to help students quickly find the appropriate position to better master the violin playing skills.
Eliminate the energy and expense of buying fingerboard stickers, the board points are very clear, and there will be no reflection under the light.
Set a Bridge
The bridge should be left high and low right, and the bridge should coincide with the midpoint of the vi hole of the violin. When you follow the bridge, you must loosen the violin string. After placing the bridge in place, the string is inserted into the limit of the bridge, and the tuning can be used normally.
Come with Violin Tuner
Multifunctional digital display tuner with twelve even rhythms. The backlight feature tunes in at night as well. Simple and portable:
- Start the tuner, clip the tuner to the head of the violin and select Function V.
- The tuner backlight will show green when the tone is accurate.
Note: It is common for the string instuments that the state of new strings are unstable. It takes a few more tunings to stabilize the pitch.
Tunning Peg
- Tighten the peg, make sure the peg is not too loose or too tight.
- The strings are typically tuned to G-D-A-E from left to right.
- Push the peg inside gently while tuning.
Metal Fine Adjustment Knob
The function of the fine adjustment knob is to help the violinist to make parts for tuning.
- Loosen the adjustment knob
- Adjust the violin neck knob to about 10 cents lower than the standard tone
- Press the top knob to fix the pitch
- Gently tighten the knob until the pitch is exactly positioned
- Adjust A D first and then adjust G E
Rosin can increase the friction of the bow and strings to make the violin sound. Please use rosin before playing.

The F-hole is two f-shaped holes at the end of the violin head. If you push the bridge under the strings, make sure it is between the two F holes.
The bridge is at a 90 degree
The side of the bridge facing the violin strings should be at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. The other side of the bridge should be slightly tilted forward.
4. Tighten the strings
Now you can tighten the strings again to hold the buttons in place. Carefully rotate each knob on the bottom of the violin.
Practice Bow
The new bow is not able to sound, you need to rub the rosin powder to have a sound.
Tuning the violin
The acoustic violin set comes with a tuner that allows the player to tune the violin.

Eastar EVA-330 4/4 Solid Wood Violin Set with Two Bow
- The original intention of this violin design is to help beginners quickly find the position, strictly follow the violin fingering position during the initial study and daily training, and form a good muscle memory.
- It should be noted that the tuning of the violin is not an easy task. If you find that the EVA-330 tuning in your hand is difficult, please search for a professional tuning course. Novice tuning is easy to break the strings, so be sure to learn to tune and then tune yourself.
Set a Bridge
The bridge should be left high and low right, and the bridge should coincide with the midpoint of the vi hole of the violin.
When setting a bridge, please first loosen the violin string. After placing the bridge in place, the string is inserted into the limit of the bridge, and the tuning can be used normally.
Adjustment Knob
The function of the fine adjustment knob is to help the violinist to make parts for tuning.
- Loosen the adjustment knobA
- Adjust the violin neck knob to about 10 cents lower than the standard tone.P
- Press the top knob to fix the pitchG
- Gently tighten the knob until the pitch is exactly positionedA
- Adjust A D first and then adjust G E
Note: It is common for the string instuments that the state of new strings are unstable. It takes a few more tunings to stabilize the pitch.
Solid wood Inlay
The EVA-330 is a solid wood violin with a fuller tone and a brighter sound than the platen line violin. The both sides of the violin is inlaid with copper wire, which can protect the wood of the violin.
The wood will be slightly deformed during storage. The inlaid copper wire is more beautiful than the painted line and can prevent the wood from being portable. Damage to the structure of the violin.
Practice Bow
Unbleached Mongolian horsehair, natural, tough. The violin bow is a consumable item, please pay attention to two points.
1: The bow is a relatively fragile accessory. If it is used improperly, the bow of the bow will break or partially fall off. The bow lacking part of the bow can be used continuously.
2: The new bow is not able to sound, you need to rub the rosin powder to have a sound.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i get this in half size for a 4th grade beginner |
Answer: | Measure your child from neck to mid palm, there are measurements you need to follow based on the length of the arm. My guess would be a 2/4 or 3/4. 4/4 is a full size. |
Question: | So I’m going to buy this for my son I see mixed reviews on this would it just be recommended to take it to a professional to have them set it up |
Answer: | Dont buy these cheap violins! I bought a beautiful green one for cheap only to have a piece break off of it and the repair man also pointed out other non repairable issues. So now it is just a display piece on my wall. |
Question: | How big is it |
Answer: | It’s not big I bough it for art on a wall. Not sure it’s actually good enough to play. |

Question: | Tiene clavijas de madera |
Answer: | You can absolutely play this violin acoustically. The Electronics are just there if you happen to ever want to plug it in! |
Question: | Does the bow really touch the wood |
Answer: | It's easy! Get an amp to headphone jack converter, just plugs into the amp port on the violin and provides headphone ports. You'll also need a muter, it's a big rubber thing that slips over the strings and bridge, that reduces sound allot, but not so much that the headphones wouldn't pick it up. I'll drop some links below:Muter:http://www.amazon.com/Glaesel-Violin-Ultra-Practice-Mute/dp/B0002II6V0/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1430597446&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=glasser+muterAdapter:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IF0JSVO/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=5CARPKV8BWHG&coliid=I1HLDE6SLLNSYB |

Unique Craftmanship
Our unique ADM Violin vintage natural oil finish is different from that coated with a thick, glossy lacquer finish which hinders quality tone production. It not only looks more professional, but remains true to historical, tried-and-true standards of hand-crafted violin making. That gives this instrument a warmer and more projective sound than competing student violins at the same cost point.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the difference in sizes between 1/4 1/2 and 4/4 Am thinking of getting one, just not sure about the size |
Answer: | No. There are tutorials online, or booklets and tutorials you can buy through Amazon in order to learn how to play the instrument. This is only the instrument, and extra accessories. |
Question: | Hello, I am a Double Bass player in my school orchestra. I am new to the violin, and wanted to know if the bridge/strings will be placed already? Thx |
Answer: | No case, with one extra string |
Question: | What size is for children |
Answer: | It is not ready to play when it just got out the box. You have to do the followings in order: 1) slide the damper under the two strings at the bottom of the python skin (I remove this damper afterward and the instrument still sounds fine, will double check with other erhu players). 2) put the "bridge" in the center of the python skin, under the two strings, make sure the strings sit in their notch on the bridge 3) tune up the strings to D (the left one) and A (the right one) (assume you are looking at the python skin) 4) add tension to the bow to the horse hair it taut, then apply the rosin on both side, this takes a while as it is a new bow 5) release the tension, take out the horse hair at one end (where you would hold the bow), slide the hair between the two strings. There are two ways to insert the hair, and ONE is WRONG !!! If you hold the erhu in playing position, the hair should be inserted such that the tip of the bow pointed backward to your left side and the "hand holding" end point forward to the right. Then turn the screw to increase the hair tension. Now, it's really ready to play. |
Question: | Is this a real violin for a twelve year old starting to play or is it a toy |
Answer: | Amazon gives us 21 to 45 days. As reported by our customers, based on our feedback and ratings, it takes 15 to 30days or thereabouts. |

Question: | what bridge does this come with |
Answer: | This product comes with two bridges that are made by the manufacture. No name on the bridges. I bought this product and it is an amazing deal for the quality and tone of the instrument! Answer: | hi Kyle D...no, I thought the violin would look like the picture because the wood looks rich and the violin strings looks like it would have a deep sound to it.
