Walrus Audio Deep Six V3

The Deep Six V3 is a true bypass studio-grade compressor stomp box, inspired by the Universal Audio 1176 with the simplicity of the Ross and Dynacomp. The V3 adds a tone knob, soft switch bypassing, updated components for improved sound, and top mounted jacks. Polarity will never be an issue as it comes standard with a reverse polarity protection circuit. It runs at 18v thanks to an internal voltage doubler giving you the maximum headroom while maintaining a typical current draw of 8.9mA.

Level

Used to set the Deep Six to unity volume. When maxed out, the Deep Six provides enough output to drive the amplifier and other pedals for added sustain.

Tone

The tone knob works as a bass cut to help shape the low end of your guitar signal. Turn it up to cut more bass, and turn it down to let more bass through.

Sustain

For rhythm playing, run the Sustain control at lower settings so that the Compressor is more of a tone shaper. This will keep your sound nice and even and compensate for any variance in the velocity of your strumming. For those Santana/Clapton style leads, turn it up for more sustain.

Blend

Mixes in the compressed signal with the original, dry signal. Turn the Blend control up to blend in the compressed signal. For high output signals (humbuckers), the blend control allows you to dial in more of the dry signal and dial out the distortion that most humbuckers bring to a compressor.

Attack

Allows you to adjust how fast the compressor will react to your notes. Set it higher for punchier leads or lower for smooth rhythm.

Answer:	Yes, but it's not optimal for bass. A bass compressor would be a better choice.
Question:	Does the 9 volt fit inside the pedal like other pedals
Answer:	It does not, there is no internal compartment for a battery, like another stated you have to plug the adapter that comes with it into the 9V DC jack on the side of the pedal, the battery hangs outside of it.

Question:	Will this pedal reduce any unwanted noise coming out of the amp
Answer:	No, if anything it will add noise. There's always gonna be a little bit of noise from an amp... maybe try a noise gate or Humbucker, or noiseless pickups. Good luck
Question:	Will this sustain pinch harmonics so I can do a dive bomb
Answer:	It should - it definitely extends the sustain and harmonics on my guitars, using it through a Fender Twin Reverb or an old Peavy with a Marshall head. However, that is not really my style of playing (the dive bombs), so I can't give you a definitive answer. It will also depend on your amp setup and the guitar. What I can say is that this box does thin the sound a little, making it more sterile.
Question:	Will this sound plesant on an acoustic guitar
Answer:	Not designed or used with acoustic instruments. Certainly not pleasant. Its a rock sound like Carlos Santana sustained notes in his solos.
Question:	I have overdrive, distortion, & metal zone pedals in front of amp & eq, chorus, & delay pedals in the effects loop. where should i place the cs
Answer:	You're going to want to have the compressor going into the front of the amp. As far as where you place it in your chain depends on what you're trying to get out of you cs-3. The best thing to do is experiment around with it. Try placing it at the beginning or end of your pedal chain, or later in the chain between , before, or after your distortion pedals, The placement can really change your tone drastically.

Answer:	I think you'd be better off with a pedal that's designed for acoustic guitar because acoustic's signal is usually line level not instrument level, but you might be able to run it in the effects loop of an acoustic amp.
Question:	Can the SP be used after a fuzz face to add sustain, or will it make the fuzz sound weird and take away the fuzzes sound quality
Answer:	The SP is a very transparent compressor and usually when one is returned its because people expect it to have a bigger effect on the tone. That said, while adding sustain it will also chomp the rough edges of the fuzz a bit and tighten it up, which sounds like something you may not want. Usually fuzz effects add quite a bit of sustain themselves. Which one are you using?
Question:	What power adapter would you use for this device? Does anyone know the exact specs
Answer:	I just used a normal 9V power plug I cannibalized from a Boss pedal. It worked fine. However, I don't think it's all that important. I ran this a ton when I was playing my passive pickup bass a lot and didn't change the battery in that time. I use my active pickup bass now, and don't really need compression.
Question:	i'm thinking of getting this or buy a used Boss CS-2 .The CS-2 is revered as a great pedal-i already own one but need to set up a 2nd PDLBRD-thoughts
Answer:	I believe the Boss CS-2 is a great compressor; the versatility from the SP, however,cannot be equaled! I would, therefore, advise you to jump in the SP... :-)
