AC Series: The Vox AC series, including models like the AC15 and AC30, is particularly famous. The AC15 typically features a single 12-inch speaker and 15 watts of power, while the AC30 has two 12-inch speakers and 30 watts of power. These amps are beloved for their chime and distinct midrange.
Compact and Portable: Vox is also known for producing smaller, more portable tube amplifiers, such as the Vox AC4 and AC10. These amps are great for smaller gigs and studio work.
Vintage Aesthetics: Vox tube amplifiers often have a vintage, retro look with classic features like diamond grille cloth and vintage-style control knobs.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this vox ac10c1 the one with the celestion greenback speaker |
Answer: | This amp comes with a celestion speaker. sweetwater sells one with the greenback. I found the stock speaker to sound very good. |
Question: | Is this a good option for playing around the house at lower volumes |
Answer: | Yes, it's an excellent option. At 10 watts you can get some good gain without killing your ears or angering your neighbors. AND, you can gig with it at smaller venues as I've done with a 5-piece band. If you need to go louder you can mic this amp and run it through the PA and monitors. But for jamming in your house it's excellent. |
Question: | When i plug in a headset in the back of the vox acl0c1 using the larger adapter jack there is only sound coming through left ear. why is this happening |
Answer: | that is internal jack to connect to another set of speakers no to be used on headphones , besides is it mono conection not stereo one you not going to hear in both side |
Question: | Does the ac10c1 have an effects loop? the description says it does but i can't identify its location on the included pictures turns |
Answer: | There is no effects loop. |

First introduced in 1958, the AC15 combo has been the amp of choice for countless guitar players throughout the world. Drawing on more than 50 years of amp-building expertise, the AC15C1 Custom Series offers maximum tonal dexterity. VOX Custom Series amps offer two channels: Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you dial in a classic sound that is all your own. Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Custom Series can deliver everything from a clean VOX "chimey" sound to a powerful overdriven tone. You can sweeten the sound of your Custom Series amplifier using the VOX Classic Tremolo effect. Both the speed and the depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm Spring Reverb is also included on all Custom Series amps, adding spaciousness to the sound. All Custom Series amps can use the VOX VFS2 footswitch, allowing you to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play. The AC15C1 combo makes use of 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes and uses pair of EL84 tubes to drive a single 12" Celestion G12M Greenback. All models in the Custom Series offer a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. Additionally, a 2nd extension speaker jack allows you to run an extra 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you get that 60's mrb effect on this amp |
Answer: | Really.... not really. MRB was very specific and only came on Thomas Organ Sepulveda-made Vox amps of the 60's. This is a good amp for the money, but I had to do a lot of tweaking on mine to get where I wanted to go (and I still may not be 100% yet!) |
Question: | This listing says 2 amps for$700. Can that be right |
Answer: | It cannot be right. Sometimes these sellers are ESL. The 2 likely refers to the fact that there are two inputs on a Vox AC15; a normal channel and top boost channel input. Maybe the seller thinks this is for playing two guitars at the same time or something? In any case, if you see a deal like this on a Vox tube amp you either got supremely lucky or it’s a mistake. |
Question: | can you use both channels at the same time |
Answer: | Yes. I've used the two outputs on my Line 6 HD500 into the two inputs. You get a bassier sound than just the top boost channel. |
Question: | If I use an A/B switch, does it switch before the individual channel volumen pots (can I get 2 volumes using an A/B switch, like a clean boost |
Answer: | This amp is not a channel-switching amp and does not accept an A/B footswitch for channel switching; however, you can get an ABY switch, which you will put BEFORE the inputs. What it will do is take the output from your guitar and split it 2 ways. The pedal switch will select which one of the two ways the output will go. Connect one of them to the "normal" input of the amp and the other to the "top boost" channel. Both channels of the amp are always on, but what comes out of the speaker depends on which input you're using. So, your guitar goes to the ABY switch, then depending on which of the Y outputs you've selected, continues to whichever amp input it's connected to. This is effect will give you channel switching. But bear in mind that both amplifier channel inputs are always on. |

User questions & answers
Question: | loud enough to play with drums and bass? can i gig a small venue with this |
Answer: | In order to reach the full 50 watts, you will have to add another 8 ohm speaker cabinet to this combo. Or, have a 4 ohm 12" or 15" speaker cabinet to use with this Vox amp for gigs. Should be loud enough for small rooms. I use my NuTube Vox amp with a 15" 4 ohm Hartke speaker to play bass with during acoustic and light electric sets. |
Question: | Does it come with a cable for connecting the head to the cabnet |
Answer: | It comes with everything you need so just plug in your guitar and listen to the great tone. |
Question: | Can you plug in guitar and headphones |
Answer: | Yes, and when you play the guitar, you hear the tone from the amplifier (reverb, tremolo, etc.) in the headphones. |
Question: | Does it come with a cable for connecting the head to the cabnet |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it loud enough to play gigs |
Answer: | I have a VT30 and it is plenty loud to play gigs. I use an amp stand to bring it up to waist level. If you have a big room and or a lot of people, just mic it through the PA system. The best thing about these valvetronix amps are that they are VOX amps. I honestly don't think that I'll buy another Fender amp again. |
Question: | Does it take well on pedals? (want to use a dunlop cry baby |
Answer: | This is a great little amp. Plenty of sound. Pedals are not a problem at all. |
Question: | Mine has a slight constant hiss as soon as you turn it on. Does anyone else have this |
Answer: | Mine was so noisy I boxed it up and returned it. It had a constant hiss and background noise that went up and down as notes were played and decayed. Not a problem with loud, fast playing but it made slow, soft playing unbearably noisy. |
Question: | Have demoed several of the vtx range in stores: when you switch between amp models; the volume level jumps violently. anyone know why |
Answer: | The reason might be that the people who make the patches seem not to care about volume disparity, but the way around it in this case is to max the 'volume' knob, and then use the 'power level' knob as your master volume knob. The volumes between amp models will be more consistent if you do that. |

Question: | What happens if you use it with a vox pathfinder 15w (early 00s, Korean) as the speaker? Would it improve the sound |
