User questions & answers

Question: Does this amp work for electric violin
Answer: Never tried it for electric violin, but I don't see where it won't work. I've used mine with my electric guitar, acoustic-electric guitar, electric ukulele, guitars with soundhole pickups, ukulele with bridge pickup, and several microphones. It's a very versatile amp. I've seen several bands using it. Hope this helps.
Question: Does it come with a foot switch? Is that something you use/need? Seems like that would be important
Answer: No. you will need to purchase the foot switch separately. I purchased the Boss F5-6 double foot switch and a stereo 1/4" cable. From here you can turn on and off the reverb and/or chorus.
Question: is the grille wear resistant
Answer: It is a fabric grill standard on all Marshall amps. Thanks
Question: Can you use head phones on this amp for silent practice using the out jack on the back
Answer: No

What's in the Box

Marshall MS2 Micro Amp, Owner's Manual

  • Battery Operated (Best with Polaroid 9V Batteries)
  • 1 Watt
  • Volume & tone control
  • Headphone jack
  • 0.34 lbs.

User questions & answers

Question: can this be used for a microphone
Answer: If the microphone has a quarter inch jack it will work. There is only one input jack.
Question: I'm looking for something for an bass guitar. I'd be playing with only one other guitar in either a living room or dinning hall setting, will it work
Answer: Bass is really not going to sound very nice through this amp, even in a small setting. You'll sound much better through an amp that's designed for bass, like a Peavey MAX 126 or Fender Rumble 15.
Question: any chance this is powerful enough to play in the street
Answer: Would be adequate for street corner or subway playing. Subway acoustics are fantastic with overdrive. About 30 foot radius of good volume...fades after that. Sound quality is true to that of the Marshall name.
Question: Can this be used with acoustic guitars
Answer: Yes. The Marshall MS2 Micro Amp has very low noise even at volume setting up to 10. The Overdrive (OD) switch gives a rather clean Marshall-like sound, compared to Marshall heads from the late '70s (a major effort with Marshall amps then was noise reduction/control). In writing this response I tested one of my MS2 micro amps (I use two, for two effects channels then out through the headphone jack for 4 (two left two right) channels to the mixer board), and plugged in my Ovation-Celebrity CC57. I turned the volume of the Celebrity pickup to 10 (the pickup is very weak) and changed the volume on the MS2 from 0 to 10 (first test), and also engaged the OD switch (second test). Without the OD in play the quality of the sound was acceptable, i.e. just a clean acoustic guitar sound. With the OD in play the noise jumps and we get a kind-of Marshall-like sound from the weak pickup. So I can recommend using the Marshall MS2 Micro Amp even with an acoustic (i.e. acoustic-hybrid electric) guitar as a practice amp and as part of an effects system (pre-amp stage). And the MS2 is very inexpensive. Hope that helps.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this only for acoustic guitars
Answer: I wouldn't plug an electric guitar into it, just as you wouldn't want to put acoustic strings on an electric guitar
Question: I wonder if this is decent enough to be used as a speaker for my laptop or phone as well? To play music in general besides plugging in my acoustic
Answer: The speaker is fine. The Blackstar Fly3 with extension speaker is much better.
Question: can you use this amp for a loop pedal
Answer: You can use the amp WITH a loop pedal. The amp itself does not have a pedal.
Question: Each channel has its separate volume control. Do the bass/mid/treble and equalizer controls effect both channels or just channel
Answer: The bass, mid, treble, and chorus are only for channel 2, channel 1 is like a dedicated microphone input, no effects, with a mic cable input. The concept, I think, for this amp, was for the singer/songwriter, to have their sound amplified at home, or in a smaller venue. For a small amp, it sounds pretty decent, and sometimes I just use the mic input lightly amplified, with an un-amplified acoustic guitar. You could also run a mic with a 1/4 guitar type plug into channel 2, gets some (mic) effects, with an um-amplified guitar. I have not actually done that, but don't see why one couldn't do so. Musicians love different musical effects, right???

For extra ambient depth and shimmer, the Acoustasonic 15’s instrument channel features a built-in chorus effect.

The Acoustasonic 15’s convenient dual front-panel inputs include a standard ¼ inch jack for an instrument and an XLR input for a microphone. User questions & answers

Question: can i record through garage band
Answer: honestly I've never separated the cabs I Velcro'd it stacked so its like a full stack, lemme go check THEN...................................... OK checked, heres the lo Down.. the chorus is in full stereo meaning it echos in both right and left speakers however its simultaneous and does not PAN left and right like an echoplex or true stereo echo that I could tell? you'll laugh anyways at the chord that comes with the 103, its like 24 inches long.. WHY? its phone plugs so EASY to find old home style phone cables, dunno your age maybe you've never seen one? yea int he day we had our phones connected to a wall outlet with a cable, its like a small like cat5 (rj45 is the standard name) you've seen cat5 its what your computer hooks up to the Ethernet with..all in all its WELL worth it its a GREAT little amp specially with the full stack setup, the echo works FANTASTIC and quite frankly I wish I had one that worked that well on my bigger stuff despite the non stereo panning, I have a Johnson Two Fifty and a Digitech GSP 2101 studio tube for all that stuff, yea man get a Johnson 150 250 or the digitech GSP 2101 if you want true stereo panning, WOW, I work it in QUAD and can dial it in however I like cuz its FULLY programmable with algorithms!!!tell you what tho I have mic's this little Blackstar and IT ROCKS!!! yup, if you have a board that does stereo panning then there ya go! crank n go, funny what I like to do is plug my acoustic into it then mic the Blackstar through the PA and recording or playing live that way SUCH A NICE CRISP CLEAN SOUND because yo don't have all that power in the way stepping on its own dork soaking up all the interference if ya know what I mean, try it you will be totally surprised, typing in this minuscule dialogue box is difficult at best, why so small Amazon?its a great little box (fact I tried em all cept the orange that I'm told is compatable and it smokes them ALL)not sure what you need it to do but for whatever the hunnerd for both is a FANTASTIC deal considering what it can do and the sound that can come out of it... distortion works well too, I love the little thing i use it at the park then in my bedroom so the neighbors can sleep and I don't have to pay finesfor an electric I use a nice 61 Strat that has some really really hot hand wound Gepettos then those run into a FULL Clapton mid boost, the works, yup so that lil boost in signal really makes that Blackstar a beast in its own rights..all in all I give it 10 stars with the other speaker
Question: it has a footswitch jack, can you go from a clean sound hit the switch and go into over drive for a solo
Answer: Blackstar has their own power supply specifically for this. Amazon sells it on it's own for around $20, and I believe when you buy the 3 pack, the Blackstar power supply comes with it. I can't say for sure, as I bought just the single unit. Save yourself the trouble and buy the 3-pack - the amp on it's own is incredible, and the stack is well worth the price. Just make sure it comes with the proprietary Blackstar power supply.
Question: Does Fuse work with this amp
Answer: absolutely not ! The fly 3 runs on 6volts /positive tip . When you buy the fly on amazon, the planet waves adaptor is suggested . My friend bought the fly to his son and pluged it on a 9 volts adapter...... he blew the amp . You may pay a little more but buy the right adapter, it works well and saves batteries
Question: What is in the box
Answer: Yes, for the extension cabinet, which expands this from 3w to 6w. The 3-pack is a good deal, because a) you get better volume but mainly because b) it includes the power supply, which means that c) the extension cabinet is virtually free.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this stand work for a Fender Champion
Answer: For all of those who have asked on Amazon.com about whether this or that particular amp stand will work for a Fender Champion 40, this Gator Frameworks Guitar Combo Amp Stand (GFW-GTR-AMP) is a perfect fit for the Fender Champion 40. It's almost as if this stand was designed for the Fender Champion 40. The stand is adequately wide enough to support the amp's dimensions and the back support bar completely clears both the on/off switch and the power cord at any angle position. This stand is very sturdy, stable, portable, and easy to set up. Although this amp stand works great as an at home amp stand, I primarily use it regularly for my Fender Champion 40 to play gigs. It gets the amp up off the floor and I can angle/position it as necessary.

Question: Can it transmit the sound to bluetooth head phones, so only I can hear what Iam playing
Answer: Hello, there is a headphone jack for plug in type, I use this it’s GREAT! I don’t think it will ”transmit” a Bluetooth signal. I think you would have to buy an external Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the headphone jack...I have a TV set up like that. Really not sure. JC
Question: When you connect your phone via Bluetooth for playing some music, does the amp provide quality deep sound? Like a boss system? Wanting to buy
Answer: I had to return the amp I bought. It was faulty - had a spate of issues. So I really didn’t have a chance to give the Bluetooth a decent tryout.

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of power supply does this use? Can I plug into the wall or does it take batteries? I'm not very familiar with amplifiers, thanks
Answer: Documentation does not say, not on the box either. Coverage area indicates it is 2.4. Works very well I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck.
Question: Would this be good for Karaoke (I have a Karaoke Mixer) or for connecting to a Projector to boost the sound
Answer: It depends on the dealer's policy.
Question: Does it come with a wire
Answer: Just received the DWS-3 system today on recommendations from numerous reviews and forums. Plugged it in using my Warwick Thumb 5-string and GK mb500. No discernible difference from using a standard cable. Handled the low B string just fine. I’m confident it will do fine at gig this weekend with GK+SWR Goliath III cab.
Question: Can this amp used for violin? Does it has speakers
Answer: As it is I found that mine did also , after research for a few minutes I found that it was my input jack on the guitar . Don’t know if this helps but I cleaned mine with a burst of compressed air and it helped but ultimately I changed the jack out for a new one and I now have crisp and clear sound .

User questions & answers

Question: Is this a good choice for electroacoustic instruments, keyboards, etc.? I've been told guitar-specific amps can "color" the sound too much
Answer: This is made specifically for guitars. If you use an acoustic it won't sound much like an acoustic would on its own. That said, dont let it stop you from experimentation. That is the whole point of music!
Question: can i use peddles or effects with this amp
Answer: Yes. Its a great sounding practice amp, the 6" speaker can only handle so much. But you can use pedals with it.
Question: does it come with the cable needed to plug it into the wall
Answer: Yes, it comes with a power cable. Great practice amp.
Question: Does this have clean or dirty
Answer: One channel so you have to adjust to get either clean or dirty.

Question: does this amp have a footswitch
Answer: A footswitch is not included but it has an input for one.

Answer: Its a standard amp(not a modelling amp) thats versatile and packs some punch with Volume, gain, bass, treble, mids,(reverb and delay)effects....4 channels...clean/crunch/od1/od2
Question: Whats in the Box

Answer: It’s a choice of the distributor whether to charge shipping or not. It comes in a big well-packed box; thus, it costs a lot more than most free shipping considerations.
Question: is this a tube amp or solid state
Answer: Solid. plus 5% with promo code: AFBA5OFF with us
Question: is this amp good enough to play at a small gig
Answer: The amp is great and will work well for a gig in a small venue.
Question: Can the Orange Crush 20 Combo be used as a cabinet with a head like the micro terror

Orange Crush 20

New for 2015 the twin channel Crush 20 takes an uncompromising approach to guitar tone and puts it in a compact and portable package. With footswitchable Clean and Dirty channels our new high gain, four stage preamp design serves up a huge palette of overdriven and distorted sounds, rich in harmonic overtones.

The sheer punch achieved through the Crush 20’s custom 8″ Voice of the World speaker is nothing short of staggering, with a commanding delivery that belies amp’s modest footprint. Featuring an Aux In for backing tracks and a CabSim-loaded headphone output the Crush 20 is an obvious choice for players seeking the legendary ‘Orange sound’ in a practice amp format.

All Analogue Signal Path

Our commitment to analogue amplifier circuitry in a digital age ensures Crush amps possess the lively feel and responsiveness that Orange is famous for, inspiring guitarists to play their instruments, not the technology. The Crush 20’s highly effective 3 band EQ section allows for huge control over your sound, from bold vintage colours to scooped modern tones.

Twin Channel, High Gain Preamp Design

Experience levels of detailed saturation and versatility never before heard in a practice amplifier. Building on the huge success of our Crush Pro series, our high gain preamp design puts a truly inspiring range of complex tones in the hands of the player. High quality, low noise components provide four stages of gain with exceptional richness and clarity, delivering everything from blissful cleans, to classic Bluesy Orange crunch all the way through to full-bodied, ultra high gain Metal distortion. Clean and Dirty channels can be switched on the amp’s top panel or remotely using the optional footswitch.

Cabinet Simulation

The headphone/line output includes our new CabSim feature, faithfully emulating the sound of a mic’d Orange 4×12″ cabinet loaded with our flagship Voice of the World speakers. Use headphones for silent practice or connect to a mixer/recording console to capture huge, authentic Orange tones in the studio.

Classic Orange Styling

Finished in our legendary livery dating back to 1968, the Crush range features our basket weave vinyl, woven speaker grille cloth, signature ‘picture frame’ edging and iconic hieroglyphs on the control panel.
