12 best small guitar cabinet

A small guitar cabinet is an essential component of an electric guitar amplifier setup. Here's some information about small guitar cabinets and their related categories:

  1. Cabinets: Guitar cabinets, also known as speaker cabinets or amp cabinets, are typically wooden enclosures designed to house one or more speakers. They are a crucial part of an electric guitar amplifier system and work in tandem with the amplifier head. The cabinet's construction, size, and speaker configuration significantly impact the overall tone and sound projection.

  2. Electric Guitar Amplifiers/Preamps: Guitar cabinets are used in conjunction with electric guitar amplifiers or preamps. The amplifier head contains the electronic components that shape and amplify the guitar's signal, while the cabinet is responsible for projecting the amplified sound. Electric guitar amplifiers can be solid-state or tube-driven, and they come in various wattages to suit different performance and practice needs.

  3. Guitar Bass Amplifiers/Preamps: In addition to electric guitar amplifiers, there are also bass guitar amplifiers and preamps designed specifically for bass guitars. These amplifiers may have different speaker configurations and tonal characteristics to accommodate the lower frequencies produced by bass guitars.

  4. Amplifiers Effects: Guitar cabinets can be used in combination with various amplifier effects to modify the guitar's sound.Effects pedals, rack-mounted processors, and digital modeling technology can be integrated into the signal chain between the guitar and the amplifier to achieve different tones and effects such as distortion, reverb, delay, and more.

  5. Musical Instruments: Electric guitars and bass guitars, which are played through guitar cabinets, fall under the category of musical instruments. Musicians use these instruments to create music across a wide range of genres, from rock and blues to jazz and metal.

The choice of a small guitar cabinet is influenced by factors such as the guitarist's playing style, the desired tone, and the intended use (e.g., practice, recording, or live performance). Smaller cabinets are often favored for practice and studio environments where lower volume levels are needed. However, they can still deliver a rich and responsive sound, making them a versatile choice for guitarists seeking portability without sacrificing tone quality. It's important for musicians to experiment with different cabinet and amplifier combinations to achieve their preferred sound.

Question: Is it designed for an 'open' back or 'closed' back cabinet

Question: Does anyone know the exact hole in your cab for this speaker to fit properly
Answer: The speaker will fit any cabinet or amp designed for a 12in speaker hole size maybe 10 . 5 " to 11 " however the drawback with this speaker is it has four pre drilled holes higher-end speakers like Jensen celestion eminence have 8 pre drilled I installed a pair of these 50 12 " in my old. Pro Reverb since I do amp stacking I blew out the original but was surprised of the crunch and the nice twang they have for bargain 12"

User questions & answers

Question: I have a musicman 112 RP 100 watt tube amp. will this speaker work
Answer: you can run even lower wattage. You will be fine. I have that and a different eminence on top of a speaker cab that puts out 60. Remember that an amp only draws the power it can (I run my amps on a 240 circuit). EE is a b**ch to truly understand and you will get many response, but I can safely say you are perfectly fine running that speaker. its also 8ohms. If you run in a 4x4, just remember if you want to run them in parallel or in series, which dramatically changes the ohms required.

About the Founder

In 1966, Bob Gault founded what was to become one of the world’s largest loudspeaker manufacturing company after working as an engineer for Magnavox and CTS (Chicago Telephone Supply). Ironically, Gault started Eminence hoping to maintain three 18" speakers per day, based on a commitment from Ampeg’s Everett Hull. Under the leadership of Gault and most recently his son, Rob, the company’s capacity grew to over 10,000 speakers per day, employing over 240 people by 1997.

Gault was the president of Eminence from the company’s inception until 1992. He officially retired in 1993, but continued to make valuable contributions to the company. Gault passed away on October 4, 2002. He is greatly missed by his family, the music industry, and the Eminence community.

Answer: I only bought the extension cabinet. But no they are 110 in the states
Question: Does Orange make a extra speaker cabinet for the 35 watt amp
Answer: This speaker does not need electric power. You should run it straight from an AMP. Orange amps can work both 120-240 w
Question: Is there a cover for this amp
Answer: goto Orange Amps very nice website to get the stock dimensionshttp://www.orangeamps.com/
Question: Can you hook up the orange micro mini to it

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with the front grill assembly? Prefer cloth grill
Answer: Yes, the come in both 8 and 16 ohm
Question: What is the weight of this cabinet? 2) is there a grille of some sort provided or available
Answer: If you are talking about the depth of the speaker (front edge to magnet back) it is about 4" You can go to the Celestion page, celestion.com/product/33/ten_30/, and get all of the speaker parameters. If you want to know the thickness of the cone - not a clue. It appears to be the usual feel of most guitar speakers. By the way, although some might notice a slight difference between this speaker and a classic ALNICO Celestion, I put a pair in a cabinet for my vintage VOX heads (Berkely 3 & AC15) and it looses nothing to the other speakers Tried an original VOX cab with Celestion Blues and only at the extremes did the vintage cabinet sound better.
Question: how much does this cabinet weigh
Answer: I disagree , depends on what you wanna hear , my basic rule is to get a speaker twice tour amps rating for a balanced tone with a little headroom .... the Bugera can push this speaker , lower wattage speakers break up sooner at lower levels , i hooked a 300 watt marshall cab once up to a 15 watt amp and the headromm was sweet .... the most important thing is the ohm rating with a tube amp , Bugeras min is 8 ohms ... explore , try and do , it'll be fine
Question: how much does this cab weigh
Answer: as a drop-in, yes, good fit - loud, compressed middle tone sound. will performe nicely for not too much money Don't know if you can retrofit a 12" into your cabinet instead - recommend it for mellowing out the highs and middle tones - measure carefully before you do any mods though. You can also consider getting a spark for the money you spent on that Marshal. If you are not doing tube-tone, a purist sort of thing, any class d amp will give you a similar sound. On second thought - just replace your speaker with that Celestion 10 30 and keep practicing and rock on - skill in the hands is better than gear in the bedroom...

  • 6W stereo set up perfect for use as PC speakers and MP3 playback
  • Clean and Overdrive channels; 3" speaker

User questions & answers

Question: If you buy the package with the 103 speaker cab is the delay in stereo
Answer: honestly I've never separated the cabs I Velcro'd it stacked so its like a full stack, lemme go check THEN...................................... OK checked, heres the lo Down.. the chorus is in full stereo meaning it echos in both right and left speakers however its simultaneous and does not PAN left and right like an echoplex or true stereo echo that I could tell? you'll laugh anyways at the chord that comes with the 103, its like 24 inches long.. WHY? its phone plugs so EASY to find old home style phone cables, dunno your age maybe you've never seen one? yea int he day we had our phones connected to a wall outlet with a cable, its like a small like cat5 (rj45 is the standard name) you've seen cat5 its what your computer hooks up to the Ethernet with..all in all its WELL worth it its a GREAT little amp specially with the full stack setup, the echo works FANTASTIC and quite frankly I wish I had one that worked that well on my bigger stuff despite the non stereo panning, I have a Johnson Two Fifty and a Digitech GSP 2101 studio tube for all that stuff, yea man get a Johnson 150 250 or the digitech GSP 2101 if you want true stereo panning, WOW, I work it in QUAD and can dial it in however I like cuz its FULLY programmable with algorithms!!!tell you what tho I have mic's this little Blackstar and IT ROCKS!!! yup, if you have a board that does stereo panning then there ya go! crank n go, funny what I like to do is plug my acoustic into it then mic the Blackstar through the PA and recording or playing live that way SUCH A NICE CRISP CLEAN SOUND because yo don't have all that power in the way stepping on its own dork soaking up all the interference if ya know what I mean, try it you will be totally surprised, typing in this minuscule dialogue box is difficult at best, why so small Amazon?its a great little box (fact I tried em all cept the orange that I'm told is compatable and it smokes them ALL)not sure what you need it to do but for whatever the hunnerd for both is a FANTASTIC deal considering what it can do and the sound that can come out of it... distortion works well too, I love the little thing i use it at the park then in my bedroom so the neighbors can sleep and I don't have to pay finesfor an electric I use a nice 61 Strat that has some really really hot hand wound Gepettos then those run into a FULL Clapton mid boost, the works, yup so that lil boost in signal really makes that Blackstar a beast in its own rights..all in all I give it 10 stars with the other speaker
Question: Is the power supply an authentic blackstar 6.5V or a generic 9v, a 9v not being appropriate for this amp Btw
Answer: Blackstar has their own power supply specifically for this. Amazon sells it on it's own for around $20, and I believe when you buy the 3 pack, the Blackstar power supply comes with it. I can't say for sure, as I bought just the single unit. Save yourself the trouble and buy the 3-pack - the amp on it's own is incredible, and the stack is well worth the price. Just make sure it comes with the proprietary Blackstar power supply.
Question: Can I use the planet waves 9V power adapter
Answer: absolutely not ! The fly 3 runs on 6volts /positive tip . When you buy the fly on amazon, the planet waves adaptor is suggested . My friend bought the fly to his son and pluged it on a 9 volts adapter...... he blew the amp . You may pay a little more but buy the right adapter, it works well and saves batteries
Question: Why is there what appears to be an Ethernet connector just above the power adapter plug
Answer: Yes, for the extension cabinet, which expands this from 3w to 6w. The 3-pack is a good deal, because a) you get better volume but mainly because b) it includes the power supply, which means that c) the extension cabinet is virtually free.

You could also that your cabinet to a local music store and trade it for some type of "combo" amplifier. A combo has the amplifier and speaker all in one cabinet.
Question: Do any of you know how much the cab actually weighs? (not the shipping weight, but the cab weight
Answer: My tweed version weighs 23 lbs. I noticed that even the Fender website has it listed as weighing over 40 lbs, but that isn't the case. I weighed mine with postal scales.
Question: If I use this w/my Blues Deluxe can I unplug the stock speaker so it isn't too loud
Answer: Yes you can, but be very careful to always have a speaker plugged in anytime you power up your Blues Deluxe. Always have your power off when plugging or unplugging a speaker. You should also know that unplugging your in-cabinet speaker and using this one will not reduce your volume. It will stay about the same. Your volume will increase just a bit if you have both of them plugged in at the same time.
