Our NOVA 327B, 17" Transport Chair is designed to provide easy, lightweight patient transport. The lightweight aluminum frame (19lbs.) makes loading easier. The quick-release, fold-down back allows the chair to fit compactly into small areas. The comfortable padded upholstery and arm pads are reinforced to prevent stretching or ripping. It has fixed full-length arms and non-skid footplates with heel loops. All chairs have removable swing-away footrests and a limited lifetime warranty on the frame. For added safety a seat belt is included and each chair is equipped with locking rear wheels.

| Answer: | My husband is 6' tall and with about a 2 inch seat cushion and the leg rest at full extension and raised, it's about 2-3" too short for his leg to rest without his foot pressing on the foot rest (that includes the added length of his boot brace). He can't put any weight on his broken ankle so we clamped a board to the leg rest, added some cushions, and it's now working for our needs. If someone needs a chair and they're able to put weight on their feet, this chair would probably work just fine for someone up to 6' tall. |

I did not weigh it myself but I did have occasion to put it in my SUV about ten times in one day when I went to visit her. I am 66 and had no problem with it. I will say that she is the youngest of her friends who are transporting her around while her broken left foot and right ankle heal. She's says they are able to lift it quite well and, of course, my aunt is thrilled to be able to continue going out with the girls. I also bought this chair for another 70ish gal so that she can transport her 94-year-old mom. She is so happy to have the transport chair as it is much lighter than her mother's walker. Being able to push her mother in and out of stores and doctor's appointments is so much faster and safer than the walker--especially when the weather is bad. I hope this has been helpful! |
