Answer:	Scott - I'm not sure what you did but I just filled mine with soapy water, dumped it, then rinsed it out when I first got it. I then filled it with coffee for a men's prayer breakfast and it worked great. About 2 pumps and an 8/10 oz. cup of coffee was filled. For me-I give it a 10 rating. You might want to send yours back and get another claiming a malfunction.

Answer:	http://www.bunn.com/sites/default/files/wysiwyg/careclean/airpot_care_cleaning.pdfI don't work for Bunn and am no engineer but what I found to work is:If you need to get into the bellows, remove the lid upside and lay it upside down - imagine the underside is a clock-face - at 1 o'clock, 5 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 11 o'clock you will see little plastic tabs that hold the underside (clock-face) into the outer main casing.Simply pry a thin lever (like a knife) between the outer main casing and the 'clock-face' (underside) just above / below these tabs and spread the outer case away from the underside. Work your way around the 4 tabs and then just press the two side-buttons in by the spout and the underside should come away easily.Please note: NO FORCE was required to do mine other than separating the outer case from the underside around the tabs. Do be careful not to tear any of the plastic as some parts are quite thin.Once that's done you can see the internals - it's quite easy to see how it all comes apart and goes back together (just do it in reverse).Having had strawberry daiquiri in mine, I found quite a lot of oxydised remnants inside the bellow: you can use a bottle brush and warm water but I found that for the stubborn bits I was best just to get my finger in there.Hope this helps - good luck :)

Answer:	No, the outside of the pot is not magnetic. This is a very good airpot, and keeps coffee hot for many hours.

Answer:	You can definitely brew coffee at home and transport it in the VonShef Airpot. If you fill the Airpot with boiling water and let it sit while you brew the coffee, empty the water from the Airpot and put your freshly brewed coffee into the Airpot, it should stay hot for at least 12 hours. I've done this with an evening activity and found that my coffee was still warm 14 hours later (the next morning). There is a 'close' setting on the dispenser top, and if you set that to 'close' and keep your Airpot vertical during transport, there is no problem transporting your coffee to your destination.

Question:	How easy is it to push the button on this carafe for someone with arthritis whose hands don't work so well
Answer:	We're still using the old filter system because the new filter has a bigger hose going from the filter to the sink which will require that we replace the valve under the sink some day to install the new filter system. Changing the instant hot water "box" took about 5 minutes. Changing the filter will take a bit of time because of the valve replacement.
Question:	Does the top “lock” for easy traveling
Answer:	Basically this has already been answered but I had another comment. First the short answer is NO. Compared to other products that run at twice the power levels this should not need its own circuit. The long answer is: it depends on what else is running on the circuit already. Based on a 15-amp breaker which is setup to break instantly at much higher values or near 15-amps if run continuously at near 15-Amps. My extra two-cents worth. Barely worth 2-cents. Is that I'm surprised the 'expert' contractor even asked you this. They should already know. Or at the least take 10-mins and look it up themselves unless they were just trying to get you to spend more money on something you didnt need. Or worse yet just don't know what they are doing. Which is probably the case. Of course from their point of view it is still a good question to ask since it takes any blame for poor results off of them if there is a power problem later. ha. I have seen simular products which take 1500-watts which is getting close to needing a dedicated circuit. Of course twice the power means it heats up faster and is better for on-demand applications where as this one has a tank included and really doesn't need the faster heat up time so long as you are not drawing more than 2/3 cups of water at a time. It would be interesting to know the real heat up time 'rate' of this item. It would have also been nice if the manufacture included a power switch to choose the power level so some kind of eco mode or smart mode. For the price Im surprised it is not connected to the internet too. yikes. Other companies offer a simular product for less than $200. Not sure it is as nice however. I just bought one myself so I will see if it is worth it or not but everyone seems to love these. I hope my Mother does too.
Question:	The interior of the Airpot is stainless steel or glass
Answer:	Power cord is built in. Its 2ft 8in from the bottom right corner of the unit when facing it. The extra one that pops up when you cart this item is likely a wired extension cable, which takes a bit of know-how to replace. So if your power jack is farther away than that you would either use the replacement cable, or just buy a grounded 2ft extension cord that plugs from both sides, which is what i would do.

Answer:	It is the same except the filter hoses. My 2008 made SST had 3/8” tube going in and out of its filter. This one has 1/4” tubes there instead. You will need a quick trip to HoneDepot and buy SharkBite 3/8” to 1/4” adapters and sone 1/4” tube possibly as well. The rest is easy and quick.

Answer:	This one has 3 settings cold, cool and hot. The cold is good temp. Cool is room temp. Hard to determine your level of cold. But I like my water cold as well and this works for me. Hope this helps.
