Emissivity Reference

It’s essential to set the correct value of emissivity for precise temperature measurement, based on the characteristics of the measured objects. Answer:	Not at all, the thermal imager is so so. But the true benefit is the ability to read the moisture content of material and to have all your customized readings on the screen at all times, including relative humidity, ambient air, etc. I have the 176 which does probe testing and also has a pad on the back of the unit, this pad lets you pull a reading without destructive measures (awesome for general walk arounds)! Can't remember what the other models offered, but I am happy with the 176. Great for mold and home inspections. I do also have an additional flir thermal imager. I definitely recommend one with MSX technology. The difference is unreal! Good Luck.

Answer:	I would say no! The spot on wall may show a difference in wall surface temperature but distinguishing this as a cat is unlikely.

Take your images edit settings, review images on screen, etc. The WiFi option has two modes: 1) direct connect to handheld device (I.e. iPad) using device own antenna or 2) connect to hone WiFi network and to a device (I.e. iPad)

Answer:	Should be able to detect the heat from the cat depending on how close to fiberglass.

Answer:	I have not seen that application. If the larvae is under water, the IR camera would not work. If it is above water and has a different temperature than the water, it could be seen.

Answer:	This FLIR device is not capable for pictures. It is more like a hardened device for use by firefighters in finding the seat of the fire or tracking hot spots. We use our industrially for finding and correcting loose electrical connections and for insulation surveys.
