Answer:	I have used the refractometer on several gemstones and got back accurate readings. the readings are for the most part very clear. This is the perfect refractometer for beginner.
Question:	Does this differentiate between dimond and moissanite
Answer:	I didn't make any test on moissanite, but with diamonds it worked pretty good. I tested identify a colored gemstone since many synthetics have the same optical.
Question:	Can it identify lab created gemstones
Answer:	Yes, it can. You must know the refractory indexes for each gemstone and for the equivalent lab created gem as well. There is a slight difference. The index for glass is unique-(5+). The refractory index information can be found on the Gem Society’s website. It is a great tool that I have used with natural light and the included light source as well.
Question:	is it possible to use to check real turquoise bead nuggets
Answer:	Hmmmm I don’t know. There is a ton of real turquoise out now but it comes from China. I usually determine real turquoise by seeing if it has little gold flakes (which it should) and if it’s cold (warmer beads are plastic) If there’s no gold, might be glass Just my two cents

Just for your info, I bought from Amazon ($3.45 for 3 Energizer batteries, which is what the refractometer needs) and they work fine. They also work in my gem scale. For your info, the seller's ad reads: Energizer 357BP-3 Watch/Electronic Batteries. I think, at the time, this was the best deal but you could research further if you want. Answer:	The readout is not digital. It reads like a ruler or bathroom scale except the numbers go north to south instead of east to west. With the light that is in the refractometer, you can see the numbers pretty clearly. I haven't had much time to practice using it so I still need to get used to reading the numbers. They go in sequence like 1.40, 1.45, 1.50, and so on. Every video I've watched teaching you how to use the refractometer has said that it takes practice to learn how to read this device when you first start. Answer:	I have a Ariens 46" and it fits a little tight but it's only one I could get to fit my mower deck. Theread is a small gap about a 1/2" at rear that will catch a little grass but other than that it works great.
