How to Calibrate the pH Meter

Take ph 9.18 standard solution as an example

Power on→Press the MODEL/CAL button → Adjust to pH mode→

Put the electrode into pH9.18 standard solution, then wait for the readings to stabilize(usually 5~10 Seconds) →

Press and hold the MODEL/CAL button and release after 6 seconds→untill the readings of pH9.18 is no longer flashing,

and the calibration of pH9.18 is completed.

Rinse the electrode with distilled water and blot dry. Repeat the above steps if you need to calibrate other solutions.

How to make a standard solution:

Completely empty the powder into a clean 250ml glass beaker.

Add 250ml of PH Buffer Powder to the beaker.

Still until the powder has completely dissolved.

Answer:	The soil ph value on the meter dial ranges from 1 to 10 (1-3 dry, 4-7 normal, 8-10 wet). If your plant is very dry, the pointer of the soil meter will not swing or swing slightly. Calibration:

1. Turn on the pH meter.

2. Dissolve each buffer solution in 250 ml of distilled water.

3. Immerse the electrode into the pH 6.86 solution (under the temperature of 25℃).

Answer:	I don't know what the "factory" would say their margin of error is, but it's not uncommon for people to check this against a calibrated refractometer and find that it reads 0.002 low. In my saltwater tank, when my refractometer says 1.025, this checker will read 1.023. It's very handy and easy to use, plus confirms my tank temperature, so I use it often, realizing it won't read the same as my refractometer. I don't know or care which one is actually correct, the tank is fine at whatever level this actually is.

Answer:	You still want to wait for suspended salt to dissolve, salt goes though a chemical reaction while it’s mixing with water and during that reaction it’s harmful to any aquatic life in contact. So wait till it’s fully dissolved, example if I put 1 cup of my mix in 2 gallons of water mix it up and than test while salt isn’t dissolved I’ll get a reading of 17PPT, if I wait 10min while the power head stirs it up longer as it dissolves at 75f the salinity reading changes to close to 35PPT ether 1-2 ppt over depending kn how much salt I added. Ie how much unser a cup or slightly over a cup. Temperature plays a key role to, warmer water can hold more salt

Answer:	700, I make my own solutions from raw substances for control and reduced cost. After I create a solution and test the result, the desired ppm matches my goal based on the .7 system. Besides since I feed my plants 2200 sometimes in heavy parts of a plants maturation, I would have poisoned them or seen adverse effects if it were on .5 by now.

Answer:	Not sure about tip replacement, but I don’t think so. Rinse after use with filtered water and dry by dabbing a paper towel. You should keep calibration mixture handy for occasionally needing to re-calibrate. 1. Turn on the pH meter.

2. Dissolve each buffer solution in 250 ml of distilled water.

3. Immerse the electrode into the solution (under the temperature of 25℃).

4. Press the "CAL"(calibration) button for 5 seconds and release； - Display screen will start flashing number； - Wait it until the display screen stops flashing； - Rinse the electrode with distilled water and make it dry with filter paper.

Answer:	Get some PH storage solution, cheap enough (BRS?), and I cut a piece of a sponge and placed it on the cap. Fill w/ solution every now and then if you use it, if not, leave it upright, so the probe is in the solution. It doesn't have to swim in it, just be in the sponge full of solution.

Answer:	Yes . This is one of the intended uses :) Just please note it's for TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), not for pH. In hydroponics applications, a ppm meter such as this one is used to determine your nutrient count.

This TDS meter is pre-calibrated in factory, no need calibrate again by customer, we do this to prevent as many calibration related mistakes as possible, and it's easier to use. To maintain the accuracy, it's better to rinse the probe with distilled water after each use. For your mentioned distilled water, it should read 0 ppm theoretically, but in actual application, if you can't keep test condition very clean, it may read 0-2ppm usually.

pH Tester Operation:

1. Remove the protective cap.
2. First clean the electrode with distilled water, and suck it with filter paper.
3. Turn on pH by ""ON-OFF"" switch located on the top of battery case.
4. Immerse the pH meter electrode in solution up to the immersion level. Under no circumstances immerse above display level.
5. Stir gently and wait for the reading to stabilize.
6. After use, switch off it, use the distilled water clean the electrode and replace the protective cap.

TDS Tester Operation:
