Tips on Use:

-PM2.5 reads in μg/m³, not AQI. Search AirNow AQI calculator online for quick conversion.

-Calibrate on first use, esp. if 0.000 indoor readings noted.

-If the HCHO, temp, or PM2.5 is inaccurate, use the "Sensor Set" Menu found under SET (press D), then SENSOR (press A) to further calibrate device readings.

-Large variations & 9.999 TVOC readings do not indicate an error as this instrument is a sensitive electronic nose; environmental TVOCs vary much and high TVOCs often can result from interference from benign fragrances or odors.

-Air Pollution Level vs. AQI are separate & different assessments of air quality.

Answer:	The monitor can check for outdoor particulate matter (PM2.5) levels; TVOC and HCHO levels are generally negligible outdoors as they are from synthetic sources.
Question:	In testing for formaldehyde & you have a certain product do you place a plastic bag around the product and insert the tester inside
Answer:	That is a very good question: 1. What I would do is place the tester in the bag without any product to get a baseline and then place the item to be tested in the bag for about 1 day to achieve equilibrium. 2. Then you can put the tester in the bag for at least 30 minutes or until readings stabilize. 3. Subtract the tested item reading from the baseline reading to get the formaldehyde emission amount from the tested item. Hope this answers your questions, take care!
Question:	Does this detector work for checking for mold
Answer:	It can check for TVOCs (organic compounds dissolved in air) and PM2.5 (micron dust levels) which can indicate presence of mold but it does not specifically check for concentration of mold spores. Thanks for asking.

Answer:	i do not know. I never try to measuring the dust collection. I try to test the paper burn smoke .
Question:	Does this device reads pesticide based chemicals
Answer:	I think it is more VOC than PM2.5 particles. PM0.3 or PM2.5 is taking about particle size or weight not its chemical composition.
Question:	Is it reliable enough to measure particles of 0.3 um size in order to maintain class 10 cleanroom
Answer:	To spot check air in a given area, perhaps. This is basically compliance with the ISO class 4 standard. Initial certification should be carried out independently and control protocols for entry should be well documented and spot checked. That said, as a resource in ongoing self-checks it should be fine. (I'm used to addressing compliance in areas with less tolerance with contamination so I'm not comfortable with a single check point)

Question:	Why is this so much less sensitive for particulate matter (pm) counts than say the "dylos pro air quality monitor
Answer:	Well the Dylos cost almost three times as much. Probably has even better sensors. That said the pm count is close to my Alen air purifiers. It is the hcho and tvoc measurements I wouldn’t mind getting a second opinion on.

Answer:	It doesn't have everything. It lacks CO2, O3, and a laser particle counter which Dylos Pro has. The acronyms are: PM (particulate matter), HCHO (formaldehyde gas), and TVOC (total volatile organic compounds).

Answer:	As far as I am aware, no it is pre calibrated at manufacturers settings by default as far as I know
Question:	How long for the first reading of the meter
Answer:	It generally takes a while to auto calibrate each time its switched on. This is normal, its each and every time its turned off and then on as it scans and detects with sensitivity
Question:	How does it switch for o2 setting to co2 readings and what is the range for the co2 reading

Answer:	This meter or detector measures oxygen parts in relation to other gaseous parts ie ppm. It simply detects oxygen concentration in contrast to hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide etc. It does not show or measure purity. If its oxygen...its simply oxygen if the gas has some other gases, it obviously is not pure oxygen. So the parts per million with oxygen are simply just that...pure oxygen.

There are gas-detection monitors on Amazon that measure for carbon monoxide.

CO2 (Carbon Dioxide)

Carbon dioxide is a colorless, tasteless gas that is heavier than air and the gas itself shows little toxicity, but suffocation is possible. If the amount of carbon dioxide is higher than the amount of oxygen circulating in the brain, the respiratory disorder, headache, tinnitus, and blood pressure will rise.

Risk of CO2 is as follows;

1. 450ppm or less: It is outdoor air in ordinary everyday life.

2. 450 ~ 1000ppm: The air is clean and there is no big trouble in breathing.

3. 1000 ~ 2000ppm: The air becomes cloudy and sleepy.

4. 2000 ~ 5000ppm: My head hurts, I get more sleep, I lose my concentration, my heart rate gets faster and I have a slight vomiting reaction.

5. 5000ppm or more: It can lead to permanent brain damage and even death in severe cases.

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds)

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) is a hydrocarbon compound that volatilizes in the air and generates odor and ozone. VOC is mainly found in the manufacturing and storage processes of petrochemical refining coating plants, building materials such as automobile exhaust, paints and adhesives, and storage tanks of gas stations. Benzene, formaldehyde, toluene, xylene, ethylene, styrene, and acetaldehyde are part of VOC which is well known.
