| Answer: | depends if you prime the wood with a latex based paint first. i paint on wood. wood absorbs a lot of water and swells so uses a lot of pain... the solution is to prime the wood with some latex primer you can get at your hardware store. a thin layer keeps the texture of the wood while sealing the wood so you can pain with acrylics. i like to keep the wood texture but prime it so that i can paint as if it were a non pourous surface. that's what i'd advise... prime with latex paint, then paint with acrylic thinning to no more than 30% water. which is what acrylic is meant to work as... |
