Intended Uses

EalionMed Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing with Silver is indicated as an absorbent, antimicrobial dressing for the management of chronic and acute wounds, full thickness, partial thickness, or shallow granulating exuding wounds, such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, foot diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, donor sites.

Step 1

Clean the wound in accordance with current clinical standards( such as sterile saline or other recommended cleansing solution).

Remove from the pack and cut to shape if necessary.

Step 2

Apply the dressing, and allow a 1cm overlap on the skin surrounding the wound.

Step 3

Secure with appropriate the secondary retention (such as adhesive dressing or medical tape)

The dressing may adhere if used on lightly exuding wounds. If the dressing is not easy removed, moisten or soak the dressing in sterile saline to assist removal and avoid disrupt of the healing wound.

When to Change the Dressing

1. Dressings can be left undisturbed for up to 7 days or changed when clinically indicated, (e.g. if leakage, excessive bleeding is present). Local clinical protocol should also be taken into consideration.
2. Silver Alginate Dressing is a single use product. If used on more than one patient, cross-contamination or infection may result.

Answer:	It is easier on the skin than a lot of others but it still sticks really firmly. It is going to be really rough on baby skin. 3m makes another product Nexcare Sensitive Skin tape. It is light blue. I never found it in bulk packaging but it is the easiest on skin that I could find. Another tip btw, use alcohol on cotton swabs to loosen the glue on the tape when you remove it. Eventually it will dry out the skin but it makes removal less painful.
