Answer:	I actually purchased a 3 had it for 3 weeks and it got stolen so I got a 4. The sound quality on the 4 is amazing. is it better than the 3, I can't really tell a noticeable difference... it does feel lighter to me than the 3. I also feel that it is made with different material as it seems to be easier to clean. Not exactly sure what the main differences are but for an extra 20$ I think it is completely worth it.

Answer:	Bought a 22'' several years ago, and I didn't notice a difference acoustically. What gets annoying sometimes is the 22" falling off my shoulders (I keep it there, rather than in my coat pocket) when not in use. May not seem like a big deal, but there have been a few times when I'm doing an abdominal or patient in supine position exam, where the 22 inch 'scope can easily slide off my one shoulder and clunk the patient in the chest.

Answer:	I had a cards 3 and between the two I can hear considerably better with this than the Littmann. My husband (not medical) even listened to compare them and asked how I could even hear the heart beating with my card 3. It is heavier on n weight then the Littmann. But for the price it’s a steal.

Answer:	I had the exact same issue with my scope. The manufacturer is local here on Long Island and I brought it to them directly. It was a factor in choosing the ADC over the Littman. They repaired it on the spot and also replaced the ear pieces with an updated part having ear buds which will not unscrew and get lost . It took about ten minutes. All free of charge. I give them 5 stars for service.

Answer:	Yes. I am hard of hearing also. This stethoscope solves that problem. I wear hearing aids but just take them out to use the scope. They might sell adaptable ear pieces for hearing aids but I didn't bother checking. I checked my B/P's vs automatic B/P's several times and got the same readings.

Answer:	The 3M Littmann Master Classic II that got the best review from experienced physicians also has my vote as a mechanical engineer neophyte user. Easy to use, easy to keep clean, variable sensitivity with pressure. My only complaint is that it does a very good job of picking up other body sounds in the body cavity like stomach gurgling. Not the cheapest, but professional performance if you can afford on the order of $100.

Answer:	The plastic tag that's suggested below as accessorie when you purchase. Had one like that on my old stetoscope (that i gave away to my son. Examination med school :)) exact same stetoscope. Didnt buy the tag this time though.

Question:	Did yours come with the box wrapped in plastic? Mine came with the box partly opened, I thought there would a protective covering around the plastic
Answer:	Mine came in the box with a 1" plastic band around the box, not all that secure of packaging. When I called Littmann, the operator didn't know what the packaging entailed. But she did say that what I purchase off of Amazon is a third party purchase, so she has no way of knowing anything about the actual product I purchased. Then I called a local distributor and talked to them. I told him I purchased one and that it had the band around the box, but that the item did not have a plastic bag around it or any other packaging. He said it does not come wrapped inside the box, that it sits on a thin piece of black foam, and that's it. That's exactly how mine was packaged. His price is $24 higher than the Amazon price. And honestly, even if I bought it from him, I still wouldn't know if someone had previously purchased it and returned it anyway. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased items in stores to later discover that it had been used and returned. UGH! The bigger issue is it a counterfeit item. I would have no way of knowing authenticity unless I purchased it directly from the manufacturer. Next best thing would be an authorized distributor. I purchased this for home use, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. But, if I were a medical student, I'd be purchasing from an authorized distributor.
Question:	is this good for listening to lung sounds on pediatric patients
Answer:	I can't say whether it's good for peds but I find it very good and was recommended this one my a 20 year peds vet.

Answer:	I like this stethoscope. Anything you get with the littman name will be high quality, the difference from the higher priced models is that this is not cardiac specific. It is a general stethoscope. There is no loss of sound identification. You can still hear s1-s2, lung sounds, bruits, murmurs, bowel sounds, and the like.

What are Stethoscopes?

Stethoscopes are diagnostic instruments that amplify sounds made by the body from the heart, lungs, abdomen and intestinal tract, or other body sites. A stethoscope is used to detect and study internal systems, such as fetal development, blood flow or blood pressure (BP), and respiration, and sounds, such as cardiac, venous, arterial, pulmonary, and uterine. Stethoscopes typically have Y-shaped rubber tubing that allows sound to travel from the chestpiece to the eartips. An open bell detects low frequency sounds, and a diaphragm detects high frequency sounds. A stethoscope can come as single, double (dual), or triple-head. Binaural stethoscopes are used with both ears, and single stethoscopes work with one ear. Differential stethoscopes are double-head, and allow sound comparison between different body sites. Non-electronic, also called mechanical or acoustic stethoscopes, transmit sound through hollow tubing to a listener’s ear.
