14 best dental soft reline material

Dental soft reline material is a specialized dental product used in the field of dentistry and prosthodontics. It is related to cosmetics restoratives and falls under the category of professional dental supplies. Here's what you need to know about dental soft reline material:

  1. Purpose: Dental soft reline material is designed for the modification and improvement of the fit and comfort of removable dental prostheses, such as dentures and partial dentures. It is primarily used to enhance the interface between the prosthesis and the patient's oral tissues.

  2. Comfort and Adaptation: The primary goal of using soft reline material is to provide a more comfortable fit for the patient. It helps alleviate pressure points and sore spots that may develop over time with the use of dentures.

  3. Material Characteristics: Dental soft reline material is typically a soft and pliable substance that conforms to the contours of the patient's oral tissues. It is often made of a silicone-based material, which is biocompatible and well-tolerated by most patients.

  4. Applications: Soft reline material is used in the following scenarios:

    • Adjustment of Dentures: When a patient experiences discomfort or soreness due to ill-fitting dentures, a dentist may use soft reline material to reshape and cushion the denture's base to better match the patient's oral anatomy.

    • Immediate Dentures: After tooth extraction, immediate dentures may be fitted with soft relines to accommodate the changes in the oral tissues during the healing process.

    • Temporary Relief: Soft reline material can provide temporary relief to patients with sensitive or sore gums by cushioning the contact between the prosthesis and the gums.

  5. Procedure: The process of applying soft reline material involves removing the denture, cleaning the denture base, and then applying the soft material to the fitting surface of the prosthesis. After setting, the reline material conforms to the patient's tissues, creating a more comfortable and secure fit.

  6. Advantages: Soft relining offers several advantages, including improved patient comfort, enhanced denture stability, and reduced friction between the denture and oral tissues. It can lead to better retention and functionality of the prosthesis.

  7. Maintenance: Patients with soft relines should follow specific care instructions provided by their dentists. Regular follow-up appointments may be necessary to monitor the condition of the relines and make adjustments if needed.

  8. Availability: Dental soft reline materials are available through dental supply companies and are typically used by dental professionals in clinical settings. Dentists select the appropriate type of soft reline material based on the patient's needs and preferences.

In summary, dental soft reline material is a crucial component of prosthodontic care, offering improved comfort and fit for patients using removable dental prostheses. It is a valuable tool in the field of dentistry and is commonly used to enhance the quality of life for individuals with dentures or partial dentures.

User questions & answers

Question: can you put 1 liner on top of the other
Answer: No you have to clean the old liner off all the way to the dentures and then apply a whole new layer.
Question: Is this better than Pro Soft by the same company
Answer: Bought this stuff after being a hard core user of Cushion Grip thermoplastic denture adhesive. Had a terrible time trying to get it to stick to my dentures and finally when I did the taste was the worst thing ever! After Cushion Grip sky rocketed through the roof with their prices for something that was discontinued I had to look for alternatives. Around February 2016, I found something called Comfort Lining thermoplastic denture adhesive, the price for the one tube was $20.00 and i figured I would try it. Took around 3 days to receive the package which is great! I was so excited to try it! Heated the small tube for 10 minutes even though it states to heat in hot water for 5 minutes, as a old time user of Cushion Grip I know that the longer that you heat thermoplastic the more flexible it becomes. Took me a few tries to get perfect as i was rusty from not having my Cushion Grip and wah la! It was good to go. Sat my dentures in the freezer for 5 minutes to set the product quicker and to my surprise this product is a blessing. No taste no burning no smell, if I need extra support for my huge bottom dentures I add a dab of secure and those suckers do not budge. I'm thankful for have found a product that actually works if not better than Cushion Grip and without the pesky stench of these relines. The relines cannot be good for human use as i believe they have acrylic in the mix that is the same thing they use for fake finger nails. If your haven't tried Comfort Lining thermoplastic denture adhesive i suggest that you do. Especially if you have tried Cushion Grip and like thermoplastic denture adhesives. The price is reasonable and the one tube last up to 3-4 months as you only have to change applications once a week. Thankful to have found a product that actually works!
Question: Other products say to put the stuff in freezer for a couple minutes, do i need to do that with this product
Answer: If you let the mix set till it gets thick enough so it won't run out of the plate instead of what the instructions say (honey) it does a good job. Never heard of putting any of the liners in the freezer. Good luck.
Question: Is it easy to do? if i make a mistake, can i fix it and most importantly, does it really work
Answer: Yes it is easy. Make sure to set your denture level before pouring in denture liner. If you make a mistake be sure to fix before it gets hard.

User questions & answers

Question: The directions on the box say for temporary use only but all the people say they've used the recliners for years and years which one is the truth? also is one better than the other? thanks, kat
Answer: Hi Kay, Although our products last a long time in the Denture, the FDA advises the use of over-the-counter denture reliners as temporary until you can see your dentist. As far as which denture reliner is better, Perma Soft or ProSoft, that depends on the preference of the individual using the product. Perma Soft lasts several months to two years in the Denture and is a firm Reline, whereas, the ProSoft Denture Reline kit is softer and more flexible reliner.
Question: Can this liner be removed if not satisfied
Answer: Yes. I usually just let the denture soak in hot water and the liner can be removed quite easily.
Question: Are there any special hint and tips that must be used?? i'm looking for simplicity and ease.. is this an easily prepared and applied product?? thanks
Answer: AS A 68 YEAR OLD I'VE BEEN A DENTURE WEARER FOR YEARS. USED CUSHION GRIP THERMOPLASTIC ADHESIVE FOR DENTURES SINCE 1981UNTIL 2014 WHEN IT DISAPPEARED ALL SO QUICKLY FROM THE PHARMACY SHELVES AND EBAY/AMAZON SELLERS DECIDED TO SELL THE PRODUCT FOR OVER $200.00 FOR A SMALL ONE OUNCE TUBE. AFTER CUSHION GRIP REACHED ITS $50.00 A BOX I HAD TO STOP PURCHASING IT, BECAUSE MY SOCIAL SECURITY CANNOT AFFORD IT ANYMORE. HAD TO RESORT TO OTHER PRODUCTS LIKE THIS ONE HERE. NOTHING NOTHING WORKED THE WAY CUSHION GRIP DID. IT HAD NO TASTE OR BURN AND IT LASTED ME OVER TWO WEEKS WITH ONE LITTLE GLOB. OTHERS LIKE ME HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING SIMILAR AS WELL A THERMOPLASTIC DENTURE ADHESIVE. LAST MONTH MY FRIEND WHO ALSO WEARS DENTURES FOUND A PRODUCT THAT SAYS IT'S A REPLACEMENT FOR CUSHION GRIP SO SHE ORDERED A TUBE ONLINE ON THEIR WEBSITE, SINCE THEY ARE VERY NEW AND DO NOT HAVE VERY MANY STORES CARRY THIS PRODUCT JUST YET. MY FRIEND ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT AND HAD GIVEN ME THE INFORMATION TO ORDER IT, SO I DID. MY FIRST TUBE CAME IN TWO WEEKS AGO AND WHILE IT STATES IT LASTS UP TO SEVEN DAYS IT LASTED ME FIVE. IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS CUSHION GRIP BUT IT'S DARN NEAR CLOSE ENOUGH TO IT!!! THE ONLY THING THAT I HAVE FOUND THAT WORKS FOR MORE THAN A DAY AND DOESN'T GET SLIMY LIKE PASTE ADHESIVE. THEIR WEBSITE IS WWW.COMFORTLINING.COM THE PRODUCT IS CALLED COMFORT LINING THERMOPLASTIC DENTURE ADHESIVE YOU HEAT IT IN A TUBE IN HOT WATER WITH VERY EASY INSTRUCTIONS THEN LET IT SIT AFTER YOU PLACE IT ON YOUR DENTURE. THERE IS ALSO VIDEOS ON HOW TO USE IT ON THEIR WEBSITE, I'VE POSTED A PICTURE BELOW NO TASTE OR BURNING EITHER. WWW.COMFORTLINING.COM
Question: do they get hot during the application
Answer: The material is epoxy based and does warm up. I put them in my mouth after spreading the material. It is not hot, just warm. The taste is like any dental mold, yucky and it rinses out. This liner lasts longer than what I got at my dentist.

User questions & answers

Question: How long does it last
Answer: My experience is that it can last at least 6 months, and maybe up to a year. A caution though is in order: the longer it is in place, the harder it becomes to remove. Also, if you need it for that long, you probably should visit a Dentist to either get new dentures or get the current one relined professionally. I know many people cannot afford either option because of the economy and Social Security, but remember, the longer you depend on a self-reline, the more your gums and bones will deteriorate!
Question: How come the bottles are not full in the kit
Answer: The bottles are filled with a specific amount, not to a specific level. Just because the bottle may hold more does not mean that the manufacturer should provide more than they promise.

Question: I get my permanent dentures in june. can i use this in lieu of other otc adhesives? this is not a relign kit correct
Answer: This IS a relign kit. My husband had gotten dentures that were not fitting very well and he was able to use this to help get his dentures fitting better. It lasts about a month on his dentures.
Question: Can i leave the dentures in warm water with "overnight whitening cleaner" with densurefit on it
Answer: I only put water in just past the teeth when I soak them overnight in a whitening tablet. Just to make sure. I'm not breaking down the Denturefit.
Question: Can i leave the dentures in warm water with "overnight whitening cleaner" with densurefit on it
Answer: Yes, you can wash and clean your dentures as usual with DenSureFit on them.
Question: How do you remove the liner when time to replace it
Answer: DenSureFit will stay attached to your dentures for up-to 3 months. When it is time to remove or replace DenSureFit, you can use a hairdryer to heat the DenSureFit, this will cause it to release from the denature surface and allow you to peel it out easily.

DenSureFit Upper Denture Reline Kit

OTC Dental, Inc

Based on 296 reviews Check latest price

Product description

How to Use the DenSureFit Upper Denture Reline Kit. Most people require 2 silicons applicators to get snug fit on the upper denture. The full kit is used to get a great initial fit. What is the extra silicone and Snug-Up Tip for? Even when someone gets a great initial fit with DenSureFit, some people will get loose a few days or weeks later. What Might Cause a Denture to Get Loose After a Reline? Loosening after a soft reline can occur as a result of: Shrinking of gums (typical with those in their first 18 months post-extraction) Reduction of inflammation (gums can become inflamed without you being aware of it from hitting/rubbing of the gums on hard acrylic, especially when eating; medications; other situations) What is a Snug-Up Application? It is not always necessary to remove and reapply your DenSureFit liner when your denture loosens. More silicone may be applied over the existing liner around the middle of the wall/trough area to fill the new void and snug the denture back up again. This is called a Snug-Up application. The Snug-Up procedure is located in the instruction booklet. Note: The silicone liner must be in good condition and bacteria-free to add more to it. If it is not in good condition, it needs to be removed and start from scratch again. Good condition means that it is being properly soaked/cleaned in a denture cleanser daily; is not lifting; does not have tears). How to Use the Extra Silicone Applicator and Snug-Up Tip If your denture is very loose, you can use the entire applicator of silicone all at once for a Snug-Up. Save the Snug-Up Tip for future use. HALF NOW….HALF LATER! Or, instead of waiting until you get very loose, you can apply ½ of the applicator of silicone when you are a little loose (one line of silicone around the wall or trough of the denture) following the Snug-Up instructions in the booklet.

  • The DenSureFit Upper Denture Reline KIT is best for use with an Upper Denture Reline it Includes 3 Silicone Applicators, Primer & Swabs PLUS a Snug-Up Tip
  • For use on upper and lower dentures
  • Soft silicon denture reline kit
  • Improve the fit and comfort of your dentures
  • Reduce or eliminate the need for messy denture adhesives

User questions & answers

Question: How long will product last given gums are no longer shrinking
Answer: DenSureFit is designed to last up to 3 months on your denture. You are able to clean and soak your dentures overnight and the DenSureFit will remain on your denture providing comfort and helping to fill the voids between your gums and your dentures. As you know the voids are caused by your gums shrinking over time.
Question: How do you remove this product if you have to go to the dentist
Answer: hot water
Question: How many times will this reline lower dentures
Answer: It depends on how loose your lower denture is and the last time you had a hard reline. If you have a loose fitting denture you might only get 1 reline and enough for a snug-up application. If you have a moderate to good fit you could get 2 or 3. each reline should last for 3+ months. Feel free contact our customer care line and we will be happy to answer questions based on your specific situation.
Question: does it work with partials
Answer: Yes it can. Requires a careful fit around brackets and teeth, but it can work well.
