12 best dental cements
Dental cements are a type of dental material used in restorative dentistry and various dental procedures. They are commonly categorized as part of professional dental supplies and may have applications in cosmetic restoratives. Here is some information about dental cements:
Purpose: Dental cements serve various purposes in dentistry, including bonding restorative materials to teeth, filling cavities, securing dental crowns and bridges, and even in orthodontic procedures for attaching brackets and bands.
Types: There are several types of dental cements, each designed for specific applications. Common types include:
Luting Cements: These are used to cement crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays onto prepared teeth. They provide a strong and durable bond.
Restorative Cements: Used for filling cavities and restoring damaged teeth. They can be tooth-colored for cosmetic purposes.
Orthodontic Cements: Designed for attaching brackets and bands to teeth during orthodontic treatments. These cements are formulated to provide a secure bond while allowing for easy removal when necessary.
Temporary Cements: These cements are used for provisional or temporary restorations and can be easily removed for later replacement with a permanent restoration.
Composition: Dental cements are typically composed of a powder and a liquid component that are mixed together to form a paste-like consistency. The exact composition may vary depending on the type of cement, but common ingredients include zinc oxide, calcium sulfate, and various other compounds.
Setting Process: Dental cements undergo a setting process after application. This can involve a chemical reaction or light-curing, depending on the type of cement. Setting times can vary from a few minutes to several hours.
Color Variations: Dental cements are available in different shades to match the natural color of teeth. This is particularly important for cosmetic restorations where aesthetics are a concern.
Adhesive Properties: Many dental cements have adhesive properties that allow them to bond securely with tooth structures and restorative materials. This helps in preventing leakage and maintaining the integrity of the restoration.
Professional Use: Dental cements are used by dentists and dental professionals as part of routine dental procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic treatments. Their selection depends on the specific clinical needs of the patient.
Industrial and Scientific Applications: In addition to dental practices, dental cements may have industrial and scientific applications, such as in material testing and research related to dental materials and adhesion.
In summary, dental cements are versatile materials used in restorative dentistry and various dental procedures. They come in different types and colors, and their composition and properties are tailored to specific dental applications. Dental professionals rely on these cements to provide effective and durable solutions for various dental treatments.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it for internally |
Answer: | Zinc Phosphate cement when set is very hard and was used a a permanent cementing material for crowns. Zinc Oxide was used mainly as a temporary filling material. Today, dentist use newer materials with different properties. |
Question: | what is the difference between zinc oxide-eugenol cement and zinc phosphate cement, can i use both |
Answer: | Do not use this product on a tooth fracture. The Eugneol will interfere with the setting of dental bonding agents a dentist might use to seal the fracture. The fracture can be treated with a bonding agent and composite material. If a fracture is severe a crown may be required or sometimes a root canal is required to save the tooth if the pulp is affected. Many small fractures are benign and a simple xray can help diagnose the issue. |
Question: | If I use this product to seal a tooth fracture, will the dentist be able to easily remove the material to prepare the tooth for a crown |
Answer: | mix 1 scoop of powder to 1 to 2 drops of liquid. Mix in powder in increments until all is mixed. Work quickly it sets ups fast. |
Question: | How to use? I lost in small instruction leaflet in the box |
Answer: | Yes. I got most of my stuff on here for my gem business. You do need a dental led curing light to make them stick to the tooth. Mouth openers, cotton swabs to dry the teeth, Swarovski gems, the gem pick up tool etc |

Question: | Can I use to 'rebuild" 2 teeth missing from a partial |
Answer: | This shows you are not a dentist. Your decay has to be removed , sterile and dry before you place this under the permanent filling by a dentist |
Question: | I had a filling come out. i bit on some hard crusted bread one too many times and i ended up losing a filling. can i use this to fill a tooth |
Answer: | Yes, but it will likely not match the color of your teeth. It is extremely tough. Brush your teeth, use mouthwash, put peroxide on the tooth with a q-tip, and prep the material but don't add the liquid (provided) yet. Add in level scoops of powder and use at least 3 drops of liquid per scoop. I had to practice once to get the mixture correct. The correct mixture, should feel like silly putty/playdough. Too thick? Add in drops of liquid. Too wet? Add in a tiny amount of powder. Dry off tooth with paper towel. Smooth mixture on quickly. You will have less than 60 seconds before it begins to harden. Be sure to use a damp cloth to wipe off any material where it doesn't belong and wipe off the scoop end used to mix the material together. Mine was on for six months and never broke off. It took the dentist 30 minutes to remove the Denpro. |
Question: | Can I use this as a thin layer on the surface of a tooth |
Answer: | Yes it work on gold teeth. I mixed it together good put on teeth. Held my teeth together for 15minutes. And didn’t eat are drink are Grind My teeth together for a full hour and it held great |
Question: | Will this make my goldteeth permanent |
Answer: | I have several crowns (that fit perfectly). And I have no problem. |

Question: | How long can i reasonably expect this to stay in place? right upper molar interior cracked. seeking a multi month crutch until dental vacation. thanks |
Answer: | Sometimes it last for five days and then other days are those for a couple hours |
Question: | How long can i reasonably expect this to stay in place? right upper molar interior cracked. seeking a multi month crutch until dental vacation. thanks |
Answer: | Pretty similar to what I used it for only I had to make a tooth that broke off from my denture but listen, have you ever done this. Grab some baking soda "just a tiny amount" and drip crazy glue on it and when you do you will find that it hardens up instantaneously and when I say hard I mean fricking hard. So what I did was make a make shift tooth mold on my denture, poured the baking soda into it and then added what I guess was about two drops of crazy glue into it then I took off the tape I used to form the mold and used a Dremel to grind it down to where it started looking like a tooth and then I covered that tooth thing with this stuff as I believe its quite possibly a tiny bit harder than the super hard plastics that the crazy glue and baking soda form but I could be wrong as I'm telling you that glue and baking soda think makes one rock hard like substance. |

2 pack: 18gm Powder, 17.5mL Liquid, & Accessories
User questions & answers
Question: | what color is it when dry? looking for bright white |
Answer: | After I mixed 1 level scoop of powder with 2 drops of liquid, I had enough time to apply to tooth and set tooth in place. I would say approximately 30 to 45 seconds after that it dried. Just ensure the tooth is in the correct place because when it dries, it dries! Mine is still holding strong without any issues. Hope that helps. |
Question: | What it's the dry time |
Answer: | My Husband uses this, bond lasted about 6 months before reapplying. He said it was very strong and felt secure eating. Hope that helps!😁 |
Question: | Is this temporary or permanent and how long do it last up to |
Answer: | no |
Question: | Is it necessary to use a curing light |
Answer: | It is mistake. We've updated it, but now it is up to Amazon to update this listing. It should say: Recapit is a unique, no mix cement made especially to help replace loose caps and crowns. Clinically tested; Recapit is safe and so effective "you can eat on it". |

GC FUJI-1 1.1 Ionomer Luting Cement Powder 35gr - Liquid 25ml # E250-002503 [ juji-one ]
User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used to seal a hole in a crown or denture |
Answer: | It’s a strong cement that is self curing and can be mixed to your preferred consistency so I don’t see any reason it shouldn’t work. If it doesn’t, the problem isn’t with the cement but rather with the bridge design. By that I mean that you may have too few abutment teeth retaining the missing teeth replacements. |
Question: | Will this work well for an upper bridge crown that spans 4 missing front teeth, porcelain fused to metal |
Answer: | Yes Can be used if expiration date before today |
Question: | Can this be used to re-glue a gold crown |
Answer: | Yes it can |
Question: | Can this be used for a post |
Answer: | It’s a bright white |

User questions & answers
Question: | is recapit for temporary or permanent repair |
Answer: | They are not worth the money. Does not live up to what the product is supposed to do. |
Question: | Does anyone understand the real difference between den-temp maximum stregnth and den-temp custom? they're both in the blue tub |
Answer: | I cannot say 100% but I would think it means you can repair a tooth 12 times if you are frugal with the amount you use |
Question: | what is meant by 12 + repair |
Answer: | If I put it in correctly it can last a week or more depending on how much I'm using that tooth to eat with. You can brush, however be very gentle. I will often take the corner of a washcloth and deal with that tooth. If you can find this locally in a store (walmart has it usually) it's better to get it that way as I believe it's fresher. This company truly needs to put some kind of exp date on their products. It's a great product but there can always be improvements. |
Question: | How long does each application last and can I brush with it in |
Answer: | The product is used primary for crown cementation, not to be used to seal a hole in a crown and definitely not to be used for dentures. |
