Unusual Sounds

“Clunk and ring” noises heard when the vehicle is shifted from drive to reverse or reverse to drive is a common indication that the U-Joint needs replacement. A squeaking sound from dry U-Joints can be heard at low speeds (under 10 mph). This is an indication that lubrication is sorely needed as metal-on-metal contact has begun. Lubrication or replacement should be undertaken immediately.

Vibration

Vibration at middling speeds (25 mph) can be caused by U-Joints having worn enough that the driveshaft is moving side-to-side slightly with each rotation. The vibration indicates imminent failure of the U-joints, so immediate replacement is recommended.

Fluid Leaks

Transmission fluid leaks from the U-Joint couplings can indicate the joint has been separated from the transmission or differential.

Answer:	Apparently the warranty is for 30 days. My 1/2” broke at about that point but I didn’t pursue the issue until day 40 or so. I would try a different potentially more rugged brand if you work industrial maintenance.

In my u-joint bodies,, the setscrew location employs internal thread size: M6 x 1.0 The supplied setscrews are external thread size M6 x 1.0 I just physically checked two u-joints in the shop, using a tap and a die, both clearly marked. I fyou dont know whether the setscrew or the setscrew hole has the right threads, you can take the ujoint body and the setscrew down to your friendly Home Depot or Lowes, or whatever, and they have a thread checker that you could use to be certain of what threads are in your u-joint body and on the supplied setscrews. Then you can get the right setscrew to fit the threads in the u-joint body... I hope this helps you out!
