User questions & answers
Question: | Where is the humidity sensor? Is it on the sensor probe that also does temp |
Answer: | Hello, Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. Yes, the humidity sensor detector will be on the same cord as the temperature probe. Kind regards, AC Infinity |
Question: | When unplugged and plugged back in will it return to the same speed as before? I want to add a switch to the outlet |
Answer: | I just tried it because of your question, yes it does, but I think you're asking about a timer situation, I would say that you shouldn't bother with a timer, the reason to get this fan over others is the programmability, this thing self adjusts its own speed based on the high/low temp and the high/low humidity that you enter, the power used to run it is very small. |
Question: | Humidity and temperature way off does anybody else have this problem? Can it be fixed |
Answer: | If all of you that have problems with these would read the instructions you can calibrate both temp and humidity as well as fix any problem with your fan not working it’s probably not turned on or is in the wrong setting check the instructions before blaming the unit these things are great in my opinion |

User questions & answers
Question: | If powered from a switched outlet, will it remember the last speed setting or does that require constant power |
Answer: | Morning RS, the S4 will not remember your fan speed. It’s a manual setting only. I also have a T4 with a smart controller and it does remember and can be set to auto for heat and humidity. The T4 is for auto exhaust and S4 is intake. If it is your only fan go with the T4. Also, if you have more than 200sf to ventilate go directly to the T6. The are very quiet which is important as my room is under a bedroom. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What is the max temp of use for this fan? i see you said 240f, but all other manufacturers with plastic impellers say max temp 140f. are you certain |
Answer: | Hello, The Maximum rating for that fan unit is 230 degree Fahrenheit. This is what the fans materials are rated for. Thank you for your question! Kind regards, Andrew Avila AC Infinity |
Question: | What is the best way to connect this to 12 or 24 volt system |
Answer: | Hi there, Thank you for reaching out to us! I'm sorry but this product would need to be plugged directly into an AC outlet to power on or you can also connect the fan to an existing digital thermal controller from the CLOUDLINE T4 model. We do not recommend hardwiring any of our products as it would deem the product out of warranty and will likely cause damage. Kind regards, Kenny Ngo AC Infinity |
Question: | How well does this work with a carbon filter |
Answer: | I have a 350 Cfm Coco/Carbon Fiber filter that I place on the Exit side of my application. I have tested the filter on both the intake and the exit. I found these units Push much better than they Pull. I do have to increase the power by 10% when I install the exit filter, but it's not really an issue in my application. |

Question: | Where can I get a aviation port cord exatention |
Answer: | Hello, Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us! Unfortunately, the RAXIAL S6 does not have an extension cord. Please accept our sincerest apology! Thank you for your question! Kind regards, The AC Infinity Team- |
Question: | At how high of temps can this fan function or do you recommend another product? Does it have thermal protection |
Answer: | I am currently using a 2x2x4 grow tent with 2 "600" watt LED lights that I run from 7pm to 10am and as long as I barely turn the speed controller up a 1/4 turn when lights come on it's about 80 degrees on my therm under the light. Then when the lights go off I just turn down to low and it's perfectly fine gets down to 70 degrees if that's what your house is at. I do HVAC and I was totally blown away with the power, the constructions of material , it's a high quality product I was already thinking of using for customers not getting enough air to bath room or far away room ect. |
Question: | Is it possible to Daisy chain this fan to the cloudline T |
Answer: | I sort of daisy chained a s4 booster for intake with a T6. I used a 3 grounded outlet adapter to plug both into the temp controller. Works for me. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this fan be used as a dryer vent booster |
Answer: | I would not recommend putting any fan in a dryer vent. Dryers don't catch all the lint and the rest blows out the vent. That lint is often somewhat sticky, particularly when fabric softener is used. A fan would create a place for all that lint to stick and it would quickly become covered. If you attempt it, make sure you can easily remove the fan for cleaning. Also it might be a fire hazard as the motor might expect a certain amount of air flow for cooling and the lint could plug that up causing it to over heat. The lint would then be excellent tinder. Ideally for your application a boost fan would not provide an obstruction to the air flow and would work on the venturi effect. Basically injecting high speed air at the edges to speed up the larger volume of flow in the middle. I don't think anyone makes such a fan however. The only example I can think of is the fan make by Dyson and sold as "bladeless" though it really has blades in the base. It is designed for another purpose however and cannot be used in your duct. I presume this is a gas dryer. Due to the hazards of it not venting properly, the best thing to do is probably to find a way to cut an exit hole closer to the dryer and use a shorter vent pipe. Electric dryers can be vented indoors thru a filter box that catches any remaining lint. That will increase the indoor humidity though. |
Question: | Can this fan be used to draw radon gas out of my basement if exhasted outside |
Answer: | I am using this for a radon fan. The radon numbers were in the 60s before the fan. After installing it, we have dropped down to 2-7 range. I'm going to add a second one and forgot get the binders to the same area of 0-2. |
Question: | Would it work to install this fan through the house wall so that I can bring the cool, outdoor evening air indoors without having the windows open |
Answer: | Hi Nikki!Thank you for your inquiry. We usually do not recommend bringing out door air directly into the house, it has to be conditioned first and its often better to just recirculate air. Depending on the amount of airflow you were looking for, that would be the determining factor. These units move quite a bit of volume of airflow and are primarily used in filtering or moving air from room to room. You would have absolutely no problems operating this unit in a room-to-room or exhaust fashion! We greatly appreciate your interest and consideration in regards to our cooling products!Warm Regards,Tommy KaragiasAC Infinity |
Question: | What is the CFM, wattage, and decibel level |
Answer: | To help alleviate confusion, wanted to chime in here to say the answer posted to this question is outdated from an OLD model. This product has had two improvements since... one is that the fan is now running on a 24v motor, and the CFM is now measured at 205 (improved from a 12v motor at 152cfm). As for noise, I don't think the decibel rating has changed as it is still quiet. The second improvement is much more recent (Decemenr 2018) and was made to the controller unit which now includes humidity control as well as temperature. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My tent is being sucked inwards any tips to prevent this? I left some holes opened at the bottom but ended with a bug problem |
Answer: | Get a 6inch intake fan also and it will equalize the pressure. I won’t buy anything from Vivoson all junk. Get a real inline fan from any other company would be better. I can hear my fans 30 feet away outside my house they get super loud. Total junk. And I thought they were quiet lol. Took about 2 weeks before the bearing started to go out. Dont get screwed by this company like me and several others. |
Question: | I'm looking into a 48x48x80 tent ... but I think the sinch holes are 8 inch will this still work |
Answer: | Yes, the 6 inch should work. You could contact the tent manufacturer and double check just to be on the safe side. Good luck. |
Question: | Will this entirely remove all marijuana smells |
Answer: | it will remove the smell, however when you open your grow space door you will smell the Mary J, just not as loud as you would if the scent was just trapped in there |
Question: | Hi, how do i firmly attatch this fan to the carbon filter before hanging in my tent |
Answer: | Great question because the brace does not work. I McGrubered the crap out of my set up....probably an easier way than duct tape, lift hooks, bungees, and adding weight to the back of the filter by another hanging object I have to ensure to does not come apart. So far, working...also, have to duct tape with hose to the fan...that brace did not stay in place. |

Question: | Can you attach a variable speed controller to this |
Answer: | You can, however, with just 200 CFM of air movement you may want to just keep it on full. The motor will make more humming noise if you use a speed controller to decrease speed. I found it makes less noise on full than it does if you decrease the speed which increases motor hum noise considerably. |
Question: | Is my fan defective? For such a small fan it is extremely loud |
Answer: | Use light weight clipper oil on the moter behind fan blades, also use tape to hold to pieces together after twisting back together. I own three need to add oil to all. All have been running non stop for over 6 months. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how long is power cord |
Answer: | 4-5’ I believe. |
Question: | Was this fan designed with fan speed controllers in mind? Will using one increase the noise level and/or shorten the life of this fan |
Answer: | Hi Robert,Yes, these inline fans can be used with variable fan speed controllers, but there are two things you need to keep in mind:1. Not every fan speed controller unit will work with this fan. We can guarantee that TerraBloom Variable Fan Speed Controller (sold separately on Amazon) does work with booster fans including this one, however, we can't guarantee that any speed controller on the market will work the same because many of them are designed for larger centrifugal fans and we received feedback from customers that they didn't work. 2. The adjustable speed range of the motor of this booster fan is roughly 20-25%, which means that you can decrease the speed roughly by quarter of the overall power before you will start hearing motor "hum", which is a sign that the fan's motor is not getting enough power to operate as designed. Do not decrease the speed of your booster fan past that point, because if the motor is left "humming" it will decrease the useful life of the unit. You can safely decrease the output of this fan by around 20-25% before the hum will be audible and it will significantly reduce the sound produced by the movement of air though the fan (it will be much quieter!) without putting extra strain on the motor and jeopordizing its useful life. Hope this helps!Best regards,TerraBloom |
Question: | How quite is this fan |
Answer: | The fan is extremely quiet. I can barely hear it. I'd guess, and it's a guess, maybe 45 decibels. Maybe 1.0 sones |
Question: | How many decibels |
Answer: | I don't have a way to measure the decibels. I have mine about 3 feet from the exit of my duct work with a thin air filter at the end to keep bugs out. So there isn't much material to muffle the sound but my exact setup is silent when standing 15+ feet away. Otherwise alone the unit sounds like a restroom exhaust fan, just a little more smooth. I hope this helps you, good luck with your project. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the shipping discreet |
Answer: | Hi Daniel, You will need to select an option to gift wrap your order so that Amazon ships it in a additional box. We do not package or ship our fans directly to Amazon customers, it is done by Amazon staff from Amazon warehouses. Best regards, TerraBloom Team |
Question: | Does this fan have a dc motor? and is it pwm controlled |
Answer: | This fan has a EC motor, which is a subtype of DC motors. Key difference is that it doesn't require a DC adapter since the conversion of electricity current happens inside the fan instead of DC adapter. The fan is controlled using Potentiometer technology and it yields exactly the same results as PWM. |
Question: | In a pets grooming salon dogs hair is flying all over the place when we blow dry the dogs. Can this unit be used to suck the dogs hair to a canister |
Answer: | Hello, Unfortunately, this fan will not work well for your application. Pet hair will be getting stuck inside the unit and getting wrapped around the impeller and fan's rotor, which can potentially increase chances of overheating and malfunction. If you still decide to us it for this application you need to ensure that there is a filter placed before the fan which will catch all of the hair before it reaches fan's parts. This somewhat defeats the purpose, as you want the hair to go into a canister and not to be trapped on the filter surface before the hair reaches the fan. Hope this helps. Best regards, TerraBloom |
Question: | Can this be used to move grinding and welding smoke |
Answer: | If it is just smoke, then it won't be an issue for the fan. But you need to make sure there won't be any hard particles going into the fan, as they can damage the blade and the motor. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be mounted vertically without harm to the motor or bearings? Answers from mfg or installation instructions only please. Thank you |
Answer: | I don’t have the installation instructions anymore to reference sorry |
Question: | Would this fan properly vent a 1000w hps lamp |
Answer: | I am cooling two 600 W HPS lamps with a single fan and it works well |
Question: | Can this fan be used to help with drafting on a wood stove? In line at top of chimney |
Answer: | If you use it to move air into the stove pipe from an outside source, the fan can be outside with a duct that enters the stove pipe midway. This would act like a venturi to force air upward. Think about adding a 45 degree t to your pipe and using this fane to draw cold air from outside and forcing it upwards in the pipe. You don't waste warm air and you get a really stoked fire. |
Question: | Can you hook up a speed control to this booster |
Answer: | You can hook up a speed control but it does not work very good and was not designed for one. When you start cutting down the power, the fan struggles and eventually stops leaving a loud humming or buzzing sound which does not sound good for the fan and may pose a fire hazard. If you want a variable controlled fan, just buy a fan that has variable control. I made the mistake of buying variable control with this fan. I ended up buying another fan that I could use this variable control on and it is more powerful and much quieter. |

Product description
Embedded duct fan
A powerful and quiet embedded duct fan is designed to quietly ventilate the hydroponic growth room, enhance the heating/cooling of the room, circulate fresh air, exhaust items, and cool the AV closet. The duct fan adopts a series mixed flow design, which can maintain airflow even in high static pressure applications. Contains an EC motor with PWM control to achieve quiet and energy-saving performance. The complete kit includes a duct fan unit, two duct clamps, installation manual, and all necessary installation hardware.
100% controllable silent EC motor
The fan body integrates a 0-100% variable speed dial, which is a continuously variable dial controller, allowing you to select any speed without any hum or noise. Compared with AC fans, its power is reduced by 40-75%, thus providing unprecedented airflow. These motors are controlled by a computer chip on the board, allowing precise speed adjustment without wasting energy and heat.
Quiet and Energy Efficient Design
Features an EC-motor that is controlled using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This technology enables motors to be able to run smoothly at extremely low RPM speeds without generating additional heat or noise. In addition, the duct fan uses a mixed-flow design using a stator blade and dual hydrodynamic wind circles. This gives it a high static pressure rating, enabling it to deliver airflow even in applications where air movement is being restricted. The motor houses dual ball bearings rated at 67,000 hours which allows the duct fan unit to be mounted in any direction. The unit is IP44 rated to be highly resistant to dust and liquids, and performs well even in harsh environments.
- MICROMALL 6” Inline Duct Fan are used in indoor grow facilities and vertical farms, heating and cooling transfer, commercial drying and air filtration applications. Our inline blowers can also create negative pressure environments, simulate wind, exhaust odors and smoke as well as intake fresh air from outdoors
- EC fan provides flexible control speed – choose any speed from 0 to 100% using the included variable speed controller without creating background noise or hum at low speeds. Or choose to upgrade to intelligent thermostat speed controller with temperature programming (ASIN Model: B08JZFMJ84 ). This fan also supports PWM and 0-10V controllers via 3.5mm audio port
- Quiet and energy-saving performance is very good: EC motors with mixed flow design and PWM control can use precise electronic pulses. This allows the embedded fan to run more quietly and reach low speeds without generating noise or heat. The energy efficiency of EC motors is also twice as high, and can save up to 40% of energy costs, and can recover costs in the long run.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the mounting bracket detachable |
Answer: | The mounting bracket is detachable. But the tube does have little guide pieces that the mounting bracket slides into and then screw mount in. So those guides stick out a tiny bit. |
Question: | Can I use it as a quiet duct booster to increase air flow to cool or warm rooms |
Answer: | Yes, the primary purposed of these duct fans is to intake cooler air from the outside into your warm room or to exhaust warm air from the room to the outside. |
Question: | Just bought this 6” fan. The user guide says there is a special screwdriver to adjust speed, etc. this tool was not included in the package. Why |
Answer: | I didn't know it's adjustable |
Question: | I connected the fan worked ok for part of the evening then stopped. The yellow heat gauge is blinking yellow and fan is not running |
Answer: | Hello Robert and Nancy, First of all, you fan is OK and this issue can be resolved. You either had a power spike/outage in your area or have connected the fan to am external rheostat type speed controller, which have cause the fan's motor to reset. It needs your input in order to turn back on, we do provide the instructions for that, however, all of the messages we tried sending you through Amazon were undelivered, which might be a result of your preferences in Amazon Buyer-Seller Communications. We've tried to send you a message 3 times and all 3 times show that the message is undelivered. Please try to contact us at [email protected] and we'll send you the instructions via email. I am also pasting the steps on how to resolve this issue below (the formatting of the text might not be the best, but the steps you need to follow are all outlined below) : Silent Series - Configuring Fan’s Motor Minimum Speed Setting after Power Reset 1. Turn the motor speed control knob (located on the right side) to extreme counterclockwise position to turn off the fan. 2. Set the temperature control knob (located on the left side) to the extreme left position (corresponds to 70°F). 3. Turn the speed control knob to extreme clockwise position (corresponds max speed setting) to start the fan, then immediately turn the fan off by turning the speed control knob to extreme counterclockwise position (until it clicks indicating its turned off). This operation looks like a fast "turn on - turn off". Don’t leave the fan in the “turned on” position for longer than 2 seconds, as it will return to the initial state and you’ll have to start again from Step 1. 4. Set the temperature control knob to the extreme right position (corresponds to 95°F). 5. Perform a fast "turn on - turn off” exactly the same as in Step 3. 6. Set the temperature control knob to the extreme left position (corresponds to 70°F). 7. Turn the speed control knob to extreme clockwise position (corresponds to max speed setting) to start the fan and leave it there. After 2 - 3 seconds from the starting moment, the yellow LED will flash at a low frequency, indicating that the minimum speed setting mode is on. You can now adjust the minimum speed of the fan by turning the temperature control knob, once the desired minimum speed is found, leave the temperature control knob in the desired position and turn the motor speed control knob to extreme counterclockwise position to turn off the fan. The fan’s minimum motor speed settings are now configured for the current frequency and voltage and saved in the module memory. Best regards, Steve TerraBloom Customer Support |
