Answer:	Yes it can, enough room for packing around it. The drum did not rattle much when placed inside.
Question:	I'm looking for a container that I can bury and store food, etc. in in case we have a fire come through our neighborhood. Would this work
Answer:	Yes you can, this drum is food grade.
Question:	Is this Airtight
Answer:	There is a rubber seal around the top. It is air tight for normal atmosphere pressure. Anything more like expanding vapor inside the over-pack drum would most likely leak out. I am not sure at what pressure it would leak. It should also be water resistant for rain or spills inside the drum. The focus should be on repairing the inner drum and making it water tight or air tight using a steel drum with special repair plugs or patches.
Question:	Are the walls as thick as a regular blue type barrel? Or are they thin and flimsy
Answer:	There thick. I used this barrel for powder coating stripping. The acid I used in it was vary corrosive and I never had an issue. The lid screws down tight and let’s nothing out.
