Answer:	Sorry, but don't remember, exactly, but I get the number I ordered. If packaging said 12, then I got 12. Though disappointed that I had to purchase screws after the fact. Casters holding up nicely.

Answer:	Yes on every surface except cork, but that's true for anything that concentrates the weight on a small point. People have had varying degrees of success getting the dents out of cork. I have these casters on bamboo and no issue with damage at all. The wheels are rubber and although rather hard, nowhere hard enough to cause damage to hardwood or laminate.

Answer:	Less than 80 pounds. I have replaced many of these on rolling workshop cabinets weighing less than 300 # total on all 4 wheels. The polymer just crumbles and the wheel falls off the axle. These should not even be on the market

Answer:	I wouldn’t recommend banging on the wheels to set them in! Get yourself an extension whether it’s a long slender piece of wood or a punch tool allowing you to tap the wheels in from the base plate (the part that’ll go against the chair).

Answer:	I thought the removal of my old "wheels" and the installation of the new was about as easy as it gets. Flipped my chair over. Grabbed old wheel and gave it a light yank. Slipped out easily. New shaft slipped in very easily without *any* tools. Feel solidly mounted. I have a Herman Miller Aeron chair.

Question:	I need to put a heavy desk on a set of wheels so I can roll it from a carpet onto a floor and back again. If use 8 of them (4 legs), will it hold
Answer:	Hard to say. The wheels are only 1" in diameter, so if the difference in height between your carpet and floor is 1/5" or more, seems like that would act like a chock and be difficult to get over. The depth of the pile in the carpet might make it hard to get through. Also need to account for the diameter of the swivel action, especially for the ones with the locks, in figuring out how close together to mount them. With 8 casters, the supported weight, if evenly distributed, should be less than 200 pounds to be within the rated range. My application for the casters is on a smooth concrete garage floor, so I don' t have any of these issues, and they work great for me.

What I do not know is how they will grab when the wheel arm rotates in its off-set. The wheel might grab and pull the carpet. They are marketed specifically for hard floors and that is why I bought them, so unless someone can answer that has specific experience with them I would stick to the standard office chair wheel.

Answer:	These wheels will definitely get clogged with hair. I've tried everything and the best way to clean hair is with heat that is well directed to protect the plastic wheels. I would suggest a butane torch. Do it outside or in a well ventilated area as the odor of burning hair is unpleasant.

Answer:	This may not be a popular amazon answer but if you are looking for just a single wheel I would suggest to you to try going to either Harbor Freight or a big home center like Home Depot, Lowes, Menard's or something like a Blaine's Farm and Fleet. all of those places sell wheels 1 at a time.
