Question: can I replace the tube with a std test tube
Answer: Qualified Yes. As long as the glass can withstand the vacuum and the temperature of the cooling bath, and the the inlet and outlet tubes can be arranged with no air leak so the vacuum is maintained, the cold trap can be cylindrical like a test tube or conical (not comical!) like an erlenmeyer flask, etc.

Answer: Maybe slightly, but not a whole lot.

Answer: No sir. The tubular magazine will be in the way.
Question: Could these fit in a test tube holder or do they have to be clamped
Answer: I have several Ar-15 rifles, Colt, M&P15, Bushmaster, Rock River and it fits over all the flash suppressors. The opening is approx 1.625 inches top to bottom, 1.5 inches side to side and 4 inches deep tapered to 4.75 inches. I hope this helps.

Answer: DERPIPE Silicone tubing, 5/8" OD x 3/8" ID works very well under high-vacuum... It is flexible enough to seal around the hose barb with hose-clamps, yet rigid enough to not collapse.

Question: How do you clean the fitting the resin passes through? why arnt there any instructions anywhere on their practical use
Answer: For any of the metal components on this item you can clean the resin off with alcohol. We recommend anything 99% so Isopropyl Alcohol works best. As for the gasket and any other non-metal item D-limonene works to clean the resin off these components. I hope this helps!

Answer: I answered incompletely because you said ASAP. The true answer is that 1/4 = ~6mm. A hose that has been advertised as 1/4 will probably accept a 10mm fitting given proper conditions. (gentle heating, etc)

Answer: I have always used these with a clamp and I have never seen one in a test tube rack, but I suppose they would fit in a particularly large rack, possibly one for 50mL Falcon tubes. Remember that this trap is over 1 inch in diameter. I would personally recommend a clamp unless there is a specific reason for using a test tube rack - a cheap clamp and stand are less expensive than this trap.

Answer: It looks like it will fit. I checked the numbers against the one I purchased and it said that the B1172-06 would fit your Gms80804bn furnace. They are pretty standard, it just depends on whether the old one is bent or straight and how long the rod is.
