Answer:	I was confused by the specifics of this question, but after I measured mine, i figured it out. The trash can tapers down to the bottom. While the top opening is 12.5" by the time you get to the bottom the diameter is reduced to 11.5".

This is actually a pretty small trash can and we only kept it to put the kitty litter in it and it stays out on the balcony. Answer:	There is a plastic rod that runs the width of the opening, built into the trash can lid. You must be missing that piece.

Question:	How many gallons or what size trash bag or liner should I use
Answer:	I Previously used Simple Human trash can liners in size "C" until l ran out. When I ordered more, turns out they changed the rim size so that it doesn't fit over these wastebaskets' rims anymore. So, I now use size "R" & a little large & long but it works. The others that have mentioned grocery bags is also a great idea. I hope this helps.

Answer:	It’s black and silver. Very attractive. With the 30gal bags offered on Amazon it looks very nice. Not heavy duty but does a good job.

Answer:	Take off the lid and remove the rim. I use regular trash bags and the rim helps to hold the bag in place. After putting the rim back on, put the lid on top of that.
