Question:	Which Oreck is best for residential use
Answer:	The only major difference between this and some of the lower end residential XL models of years past is the "Commercial" marking, the cord color, and the lack of a bag dock which can be retrofitted. It is also highly likely this can be upgraded to a two speed model by simply installing an Oreck 2 speed switch.
Question:	My daughters and i all have long hair that we have to cut out of the vacuum brush. How is this vacuum with hair
Answer:	Any vacuum with a rotating brush is going to get tangled with long hairs but this is actually a good thing. All upright vacuums have the fan that pulls the dirt in, in front of the bag so all the hair and stuff has to go past the spinning fan first. You can hear this whenever something hard is picked up and can be heard hitting the fan blades, not good. Any long hairs or string that gets past the rotating brush, is going to get tangled on the fan which you cannot get to, to cut them out. This will cause the fan to run hot and shorten the life of the machine.
Question:	I am about to buy the XL2100RHS but do not want to use the thin, cheap commercial bags. Is there a HEPA bag that fits this product

Answer:	Just jumping in here. We've had a few dysons (some second hand, others new) and I've always found them to be incredibly underwhelming. "But they last forever!" Maybe, but they don't do a better job than I've seen $150 cleaners do that still last for many years. The dysons were also unusable for stair cleaning and on the model I had, the brush would turn off when it was in full upright mode! Terrible design. I'm also pretty convinced they're not sealed that well for allergens. Their bagless design is also terrible. We're going to give this Oreck a try and see how it goes...

Answer:	No, these aren’t the hepa bags. The hepa bags are grey. These bags though are strong. I put a deodorizer tablet in all my bags. I love my Oreck!!

Answer:	It depends on what you're looking for. Cloth bags are generally less expensive over the long run because they last forever, but generally a disposable can filter out more dust, keeping air quality better. They are also more convenient.

Answer:	As someone who collects vacuums, I love my new Oreck. It's powerful and super easy to use. Depending on the kind of carpet you have, the suction of this machine will most likely leave tracks where it has been used. I, personally, love seeing the tracks of freshly vacuumed carpet.
Question:	What is the difference between this one and Orecks commercial one
Answer:	In my opinion, the commercial vacuum isn’t built as solidly, even though that is counter-intuitive; ordinarily one would think the commercial vacuum would be made for heavier use. It appears that the thought instead was that commercial vacuum users would be more likely to view it as semi-disposable, while to a home-owner it is more of a longterm investment.

Answer:	It is very easy because the vacuum is so light in weight. I bought this Oreck because I have a very serious back problem, & this vacuum is the answer. I give it a 5 star rating.

Answer:	This does a decent job with pet hair. I would not say it is phenomenal. We had 2 dogs a golden retriever who recently passed and a plush coat German Shepherd. LOTS of dog hair. I do like that I can use it both on carpet and bare floors.
Question:	How well does it work on high pile arpets
Answer:	In response to Amy S on October 17, 2016....The handle is made from magnesium which is a metal hence the name Oreck "Magnesium" RS. The warranty is for 7 years so if your handle broke somehow it would be covered under the warranty. As far as high pile goes, I have high shag in my home and this is the only vacuum that works on it. I've tried all the others Dyson, Shark, Hoover, Dirt Devil, Bissell and Eureka and none has worked as good as the Oreck Magnesium RS on the carpet! By the way, on low speed it works AWESOME as well!

Answer:	Sorry, that's not something I've gotten to yet. I dislike this vacuum so much I try not to use it unless absolutely necessary.

Answer:	I don't know what you mean by a "brushless head", but there is no attachment for rugs. It is not intended for use on rugs. Frankly, I don't recommend this device for any use. Although the suction is okay, it is difficult to handle.
Question:	How long is the "wand?" We want to use this vacuum mainly on our laminate floor, and don't want to have to stoop over to use it
Answer:	No stooping! I use it as a small regular vac or quick clean tool. I think you will have plenty length.

Answer:	Light housekeeping. Great for wood or kitchen floors, stairs, cobwebs. Very nice for small jobs. No heavy duty cleaning like carpet. It does a nice job on my area rugs.

Answer:	I don't have sand or tile floors. I live in Georgia's red clay country.
Question:	There is no docking station. My previous model had docking station. How will the bag stay on
Answer:	It wraps around a loop at the top of the handle and around another handle 3/4 of the way down that is used to carry it upstairs. It's very easy to wrap and the cord stays put.
Question:	Has the oreck XL7 classic been discontinued
Answer:	I would say it would work well on hardwood floors, but after owning this Oreck for a year, I would not be inclined to purchase it again. It's hard to push on carpet and the cord is very heavy making it even more difficult to use. My previous Oreck was much lighter. I'd check it out at an Oreck Store before buying it on line.
Question:	do any of the oreck upright vacuums come with attachments or can attachments be used with them
Answer:	For a home vacuum you really want something with manual height adjustment; Oreck Vacuums are mainly designed for commercial carpet; which is more or less a really thin carpet; and commercial carpet is more or less a thin sheet of fabric covering a hard surface such has cement. Answer:	No, this vacuum does not have any settings for turning the brush off or on. The brush rotates when the power is on.
