Question: does it get hot on your back
Answer: It doesn't get super hot. I clean a chiropractic office once a week. Think it takes me about 30-40 minutes to vacuum. My back is usually a bit sweaty when I take the pack off but it doesn't really bother me. Work is sweaty... That's just the way it is. I love the maneuverability of the vac. It's very easy to get into tight spaces arround the equipment and treatment tables.

Answer: its as loud as most commercial vacuums - it hits right in the range of the hearing damage i have so i do wear ear plugs with plungers(better than the squish ones) and ear muffs. then its ok for me. it has the power equal to a commercial back pack. we were janitors for 12 years.my experience is start protecting your hearing as often as possible. damage is a cumulative thing don't let it even start.

Only problem I ever have is when I turn around in a time place I bang the back pack.I have a fairly deep Pyle on some carpet and I am amazed that the carpet attachment which is air powered really spins fast even on the carpet. Dirt bags seem over engineered. Suction is strong enough that dust within several inches of the attachment is taken in.

That and i don't want to risk scratching my floor if the regular vacuum head picks up a rock or something.

Answer: This vacuum is SO HEAVY that it is hard to get up and down the stairs. The tool is too small and the hose too short, to really clean a set of stairs. You could - but it would take forever. We had to go buy a new vac for stairs. This tool is great for your car though! We have not enjoyed this vacuum (me and my housekeeper) - because it is so big and heavy. And it's suction is just ok... I will go back to shark when we feel we have gotten our money's worth out of this.

Answer: Mine came with a 50-foot, orange extension cord that is removable if you prefer a shorter cord. It is NOT attached to the vacuum innards. That cord is only about 8 to 12 inches long. The cord is held together with a rubber loop connector that prevents it from pulling apart. I do not know what kind of cubic foot per minute (CFM) the vacuum produces, but it's adequate for my wood floors. The Hoover motor is a 120-volt, 60 HZ, 8.5 amp motor. If my high school physics memory is correct, volts X amps equals watts, so it's a 1,020 watt motor. While vacuuming, I also use an FM radio/MP3 Player noise-canceling headset I got for Christmas last year. It came from Home Depot for $29. It works fine and protects my hearing. I use it when blowing leaves, power spraying, operating my table and miter saws, etc. Hope this helps.

Answer: I can't say for sure, but I am a small woman 76 years old, weigh 105 pounds and I clean upstairs and downstairs carrying this vacum cleaner in a couple hours and it doesn't feel heavy to me, nor do I have any aches and pains from vacuuming. This vacuum cleaner is powerful and so wonderful.

Atrix manufactures the Atrix backpack cord (pigtail) a certain length for two reasons: 1) users of this product range from professional cleaners to homeowners, and by manufacturing the cord as a pigtail it allows the operator to choose which size extension cord best suits their application; and 2) if the extension cord is damaged, it then offers the operator a quick fix - simply by replacing the extension cord, not the entire vacuum. Question: anyone know how many decibels? Could someone watch TV while vacuum is running
Answer: As a contractor we vacuum up lot's of dust, including drywall. It does perform well but, only has a six quart bag and the suction will diminish with fine dust. We typically shake out the bag and get back to it. We had an Oreck @ with a 10 quart bag, same thing only difference was the + $ 300.00 price tag. I have no complaints with GV it's an awesome vac for the price.
