We’ll show you how: Turn the power off. Hold the hand vacuum vertically and press the release button to release the dirt cup. Remove the filter by grabbing the tabs and pulling up from the dirt cup Empty dirt into a waste container After heavy usage, remove any pet hair or dirt and debris from the filter and hand wash under warm water. Wash and rinse the filter gently and leave it out to dry. Once dry, replace the filter and attach back into the dirt cup until it snaps into place You may now re-attach the dirt cup to the hand vacuum Your dirt cup and filter are now empty and clean. Answer:	I used to have problems with my medium-haired hound mix shedding. Thanks to my wife I no longer get irritated with his shedding. Answer:	Ok, so this was bugging me also on what the difference between the models is, So I called Bissell and they informed me that there is no difference the last # added to the model is added for different stores carrying the product. Answer:	I have three of them, older model bottom tank not translucent. I estimate about threes years with not very much use but when I use it, I use it hard. Great when it was new. Now very loud and don't have much suction, almost useless. Very well constructed though, solid motor and impeller but impossible to change the motor brushes without ripping it out from the holder - maybe need special tool, didn't have to be that way. Filters are the weak link, need to be cleaned constantly even before the tank is filled to one inch. I think the dusts got into the motor/impeller and eat up the bearings.

Dimensions: 13.8 lbs Check for suction at the back of the unit after removing the hose where it attaches to the back of the unit. If there IS suction at the back of the machine with the hose removed, follow these steps: Unplug the unit from the outlet. Check the Pre- and Post-Motor filters for debris. Dirty filters can restrict airflow. The Pre-Motor Foam Filter is square. You can find it in a pull-out tray under the Dirt Tank. The Foam Filter may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Reinstall the filter when it’s completely dry. The Multi-Layer Post-Motor Filter is rectangular. It can be found on the side of the machine. Note: The white Multi-Layer Post Motor Filter isn’t washable. Make sure the dirt tank is empty. Check the upper tank for build-up or clogs. If it needs to be cleaned, use a short, Phillips-head screwdriver and take off the separator plate with a cloth (can be dampened with water or mild detergent). Replace dirt tank. Check for good suction at the end of the upholstery hose. If there’s good suction, make sure the hose is connected firmly to the lower hose on the back of the vacuum. If there’s no suction, check the hose for splits, cracks, or clogs. Make sure the Brush Roll is rotating. If it isn’t, take the access plate off and examine the brush and belt for damage. The access panel can be taken off by lifting the four tabs on the bottom of your machine. Clearing clogs detach the Upper Hose from the machine. Insert a broomstick into the hose to push any obstruction through. Remove the screw from the left side of the lower hose on the back of the unit. Straighten this section of hose by pulling it down or laying the unit on its side with the lower hose towards the top side. Look through the hose for any obstruction. Use a broomstick to unclog the hose. Power source - corded. Power rating: 3 amps.

Answer:	The brush head detaches from the hose. I clean it by running extremely hot water through it. You could even soak it in a warm water bath if needed. If there is a hair stuck inside the plastic portion, you can use an unbent page clip to dig it out.

Answer:	I have a spot-bot as well as a Bissell upright (about to buy this little green one) - and I use a zip tie - the kind you can use for bundling wires - very long and flexible - as long as the fuzz inside the suction head is still wet, a zip tie works really well for me!!

Answer:	Sorry to tell you this - I've had my first machine for yr and it worked fine until it would no longer spray- since it was old I thought some part must have worn out - and since it had given me many yrs of great service - I just went out and bought another one - I have had this new one for just about a yr and now the same problem is happening to this one - I've given up and use a spray bottle to apply solution and the machine to pick up the residue - I'll have to be in touch with the company - but this does seem like it could be a chronic problem.

Question:	Is there a way to clean the brush head from gunk stuck in it
Answer:	Yes, try suctioning up a small amount of water from a bowl to clean the brush head and hose of any debris or dirt. Hope this helps!
Question:	The water containers seem hard to empty out fully - not well designed. Is anyone having problems with that
Answer:	Yes! I was absolutely having issues emptying the dirty water tank. You can remove the plastic tank from the machine. There was a video that showed how to remove a section of that tank in order to open it up fully. I can't post the link here, but I hope this description helps. Take the dirty water tank off the machine. Then take the purple handle and move it up and over the tank. It will stick at the top and will look like it cannot go further, however, keep pressing gently but firmly and the handle will "give" slightly to allow it to go well over the top fo the tank, in almost a 180 degree change from where it was before. Now you can scoop your fingers under the top section and lift it off. You can see where the plastic looks like it will separate. Once separated, you can set the tank in the sink and clean both sides freely. I was afraid to push it over the top since it naturally stops there, but it does go over.
Question:	Many people say there is a defect were the hose meets the handle And it breaks does anyone know if bissel corrected this problem? Or do they give you
Answer:	I'm in the process of replacing mine because of the described problem. The hose do get brittle after so many usage, the the part of the hose connecting to the suction handle breaks. Problem is this model does not have a hose replacement. Also, I check around how to replace the hose and it looks like, it will take some breaking the machine apart to get to end of the hose connecting to the machine. BUMMER!!!
