Answer:	That would be a very creative use :-). However, while you may "pull" the string one way, hard to "push" it the other way. Also, it would clean only one surface, not both. And if you take the magnet on one side out, the other piece will just fall 54 stories below!

Answer:	I have a 10 gal tank and it works great for me. The flex part of hose is 43 inches long and the straight part down to the gravel cleaner is 10 inches. Hope that helps

Answer:	No you can not take it apart it is one piece. I fill a bucket with soapy water and suck that through to clean mine.
Question:	When cleaning algae from my rocks should i have the filter bag on or the flexible black tube to drain water from tank
Answer:	The thicker short white cylindrical end is where the dirty water gets sucked in. The long thin nuzzle next to the blue pump is where water gets pumped out. I am assuming that you would like to remove the thin little discharging end tip and then connect a hose to the blue discharging pump in order to lead the dirty water further away. The discharging end of the pump is 7/8",---- seven eighth of an inch . This is measured from the outside edge to the outside edge. That is, your connecting hose has to measure 7/8" inch on the inside. The two hoses could only overlap by 1/2 inch. Hope it'll workout.
