Answer:	On 1/2'' thickness steel plate, the vertical magnetic pull-force will be 92lb. but the actual load capability denpends on the thickness of steel object, the roughness of the attracted surface of steel object and the angle of pulling. Normally the thicker the steel object is , the stronger the magnetic pull-force is . If the surface of steel object is flat and smooth , the magneti pull force will be relative high. When the angle of pulling is 90 degree, the pull-force will be max, 180 is minium.

Answer:	The magnet is on one plate only. It is quite strong.

Answer:	Those magnets are soo strong and tough. Over kill for what I needed. Looks like very good quality. I'm not using any outside but would not hesitate to use them outside. Like keep a gate shut or whatever.
Question:	how can they be separated? I have used tools and can not get them to move, anyone have a suggestion how to separate them
Answer:	The easiest way that I have found is to use a plastic putty knife. Using plastic, rather than metal helps to break the magnetic field. Putting the magnet part into a vice to hold it also helps and keeps it from rotating.

Question:	will these work well in lieu of ball catch on french doors? one side in top of door and one side in the head jamb with approx. 1/8" revel
Answer:	Can't say for sure. These are strong magnets so it probably depends on the weight of the french doors and not attaching both sides so they are centered with each other. I'm guessing you might run into issues completely shutting the door if the doors are light and you attach both halves so they are centered with each other after the door is completely shut. You might have to attach the halves off center so only a portion of the halves touch each other or find some with less force. It probably depends on the weight of the doors and how hard you want to pull the doors shut to have the doors completely shut.
Question:	What is the polarity of the countersunk side, north or south
