LCD1602 Display module
LCD1602 module is a display that has an LED backlight and can display two rows with up to 16 characters on each row. You can see the rectangles for each character on the display and the pixels that make up each character. The display is just white on blue and is intended for showing text.
Lining up the display with the top of the breadboard helps to identify its pins without too much counting, especially if the breadboard has its rows numbered with row 1 as the top row of the board. Do not forget, the long yellow lead that links the slider of the pot to pin 3 of the display. The 'pot' is used to control the contrast of the display.
DC Motors and L293D Transistor
In this project you will learn how to control a small DC motor using a Mega2560 board and a L293D transistor, which is a very useful chip. It can actually control two motors independently. We are just using half the chip in this lesson, most of the pins on the right hand side of the chip are for controlling a second motor.
L293D is quadruple high-current half-H drivers and designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 1 A at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. The L293D is also designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 600-mA at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V and drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, dc and bipolar stepping motors, as well as other high-current/high-voltage loads in positive-supply applications.

4 digit 7 segment display
7 segment displays consist of 7 LEDs, called segments, arranged in the shape of an “8”. Most 7-segment displays actually have 8 segments, with a dot on the right side of the digit that serves as a decimal point. When using 4-digit 7-segment display, the common anode or common cathode pin is used to control which digit is displayed. Even though there is only one digit working, the principle of Persistence of Vision enables you to see all numbers displayed because each the scanning speed is so fast that you hardly notice the intervals. 74HC595 Shift Register and LEDs
74HC595 is a Serial to Parallel Converter which has eight outputs (perfect) and three inputs that you use to feed data into it a bit at a time.
This chip makes it a little slower to drive the LEDs (you can only change the LEDs about 500,000 times a second instead of 8,000,000 a second) but it's still really fast, way faster than humans can detect, so it's worth it.
74HC595 shift register is a type of chip that holds what can be thought of as eight memory locations, each of which can either be a 1 or a 0. To set each of these values on or off, we feed in the data using the 'Data' and 'Clock' pins of the chip.
LCD1602 Display module
LCD1602 module is a display that has an LED backlight and can display two rows with up to 16 characters on each row. You can see the rectangles for each character on the display and the pixels that make up each character. The display is just white on blue and is intended for showing text.
Lining up the display with the top of the breadboard helps to identify its pins without too much counting, especially if the breadboard has its rows numbered with row 1 as the top row of the board. Do not forget, the long yellow lead that links the slider of the pot to pin 3 of the display. The 'pot' is used to control the contrast of the display.
DC Motors and L293D Transistor
In this project you will learn how to control a small DC motor using an UNO R3 and a L293D transistor, which is a very useful chip. It can actually control two motors independently. We are just using half the chip in this lesson, most of the pins on the right hand side of the chip are for controlling a second motor.
L293D is quadruple high-current half-H drivers and designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 1 A at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. The L293D is also designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 600-mA at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V and drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, dc and bipolar stepping motors, as well as other high-current/high-voltage loads in positive-supply applications.

Answer: | If you are talking about taking off the black dupont connector and sliding the pinned wire into a new dupont connector, then yes, you can. Each connector has the tab that you would expect in a dupont connector. I just did this to 4 wires putting them into a 4 pin connector. If you want to cut the wires shorter then you will need the dupont pins, a wire stripper, and a crimper to crimp the new pins onto the shortened wires. Sorry this answer is long past when it is likely useful to you, but it may help others. |

It works with a 3.3 to 6V DC power supply and the digital interface to the micro controller requires 3.3V to 5V. If you run it off a 9V battery, you will need a voltage regulator to power this fingerprint scanner as well as the micro controller. |

DHT11 Temperature and Humidity sensor
DHT11 digital temperature and humidity sensor is a composite sensor which contains a calibrated digital signal output of the temperature and humidity. The dedicated digital modules collection technology and the temperature and humidity sensing technology are applied to ensure that the product has high reliability and excellent long-term stability. The sensor includes a resistive sense of wet components and a NTC temperature measurement devices, and connects with a high-performance 8-bit microcontroller.
HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor
PIR sensors allow you to sense motion, almost always used to detect whether a human has moved in or out of the sensors range. They are small, inexpensive, low-power, easy to use and don't wear out. For that reason they are commonly found in appliances and gadgets used in homes or businesses. PIRs are basically made of a pyroelectric sensor, which can detect levels of infrared radiation. Everything emits some low level radiation, and the hotter something is, the more radiation is emitted.
GY-521 Triaxial acceleration triaxial gyroscope sensor
GY-521 six-axis sensor usually consists of two which are accelerometer and gyroscope. The GY-521 is a 6 DOF (Degrees of Freedom) or a six axis IMU sensor, which means that it gives six values as output. Three values from the accelerometer and three from the gyroscope. It is also a sensor based on MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology. Both the accelerometer and the gyroscope is embedded inside a single chip. This chip uses I2C (Inter Integrated Circuit) protocol for communication.

Answer: | Please Note - you cannot just plug it into a cigarette lighter to charge the battery pack. It requires a regulated 12.60 volt power supply. If you exceed this voltage you WILL damage the battery pack. Lithium-ion ICR cells do not tolerate over voltage charging above 4.2 volts per cell and will overheat and vent. The cells in these battery packs are not IC protected cells. These battery packs consist of 6 Samsung ICR1860 cells in a parallel series configuration and they do work great but To charge it from your vehicle or any other source you will need a 12.60 volt regulated output power supply. Caution- Warning..... Please be careful! I work with lithium-ion battery packs all the time. Under certain conditions you can create a fire so be careful! As an additional note- this pack is falsely advertised as a 6000mah pack - it is actually a 5400mah pack as the cells are Samsung ICR18650- 2700mah cells in parallel. |

Answer: | As long as your bed frame has holes in it this headboard should work. It has several different holes, so you can customize how high or low the padded back is. I have mine attached to a basic Hollywood frame. It does NOT come with the screws to attach it though. You will have to supply those. |
