Rotary Vane Technology

Rotary vane technology is a positive displacement (fixed volume) pump design that utilizes an offset rotor with sliding vanes that rotates on a motor shaft inside the pump. The vanes move outward against the pump cavity to form individual chambers (positive displacement). Fuel enters into the pump cavity through the inlet port on the rotor side where the vanes are fully extended. As the rotor turns, the vanes collapse inward creating the pressure that forces the fuel into the discharge port and through the hose.

Suction Lift

The maximum suction lift rating refers to the maximum vertical distance that a pump can lift fuel out of a tank. On rotary vane pumps, suction lift is created due to the offset of the rotor in the pump cavity, which increases the volume in the chamber between the vanes, thus lowering the pressure on the pump’s inlet. Atmospheric pressure, which is now greater than the inlet pressure in the pump, moves the fuel from the tank to the pump cavity (self-priming).

Suction lift is determined by the pump specifications, the type of fuel, and the altitude of the location where the pump is installed. Higher altitudes reduce the suction lift of a pump due to the reduced atmospheric pressure.

To achieve maximum suction lift, the inlet plumbing should be as straight as possible with no elbows or bends in the line. Accessories, such as filters, should not be installed on the inlet side of the pump. Valves should be set with minimum spring pressure and must contain a pressure relief valve.

Discharge Pressure

Discharge pressure refers to the systems pressure while dispensing. It effects flow-rate based on the pump’s design - the lower the discharge pressure, the higher the flow-rate.

Variables that increase discharge pressure/decrease flow-rate:

• Adding accessories (filters, measuring devices, swivels, etc…)
• Changing accessories (increasing the length or decreasing diameter of hose)
• Dispensing fuel above the pump (the higher the discharge point is above the pump the lower flow-rate)
• Pumping higher viscosity fluids (Fill-Rite pumps are designed to pump at a viscosity no greater than kerosene)

To lower discharge pressure/increase flow-rate, remove or limit restrictions. Examples include, moving from a 10 micron filter to 30 micron filter, changing from a 800 series to a 900 series or TT10 series, limiting the use of elbows in system design, or increasing the diameter of your discharge hose/pipe.

The FR1204H is a 12V 15 GPM fuel transfer pump that comes as a pump only model and comes with a 3/4" elbow, 5’ 12-gauge ground wire, and a 18’ 12 gauge 2-wire battery cable (3/4" outlet). Question:	Would I be able to set my gas can on the ground and have this pump gas into my car's gas tank, or would I have to hold my can level with the tank
Answer:	Don't see why you wouldn't be able to pump gas from can on ground into your gas tank. In my case gasoline was pumped up a little over 2 1/2 feet, so I don't see why it wouldn't work in your case. Might be easier on the pump to first get it started by holding the can off the ground then put it on the ground. Pump does work good and 'seems' to be a decent product. I've only had to use it twice and it worked well in both cases.
Question:	Will this work on a Trailblazer
Answer:	While we don't have any test results with the Trailblazer, the GasTapper has been used successfully in most GM vehicles of that era (2001-2009). Answer:	You can probably use it for watering plants. However, I would not recommend using it for drinking water as it might have some chemical residue that could be harmful and/or give the drinking water a bad taste.

Answer:	No that is not recommend. In fact The instructions indicates this pump is not powerful enough to lift fuel with a discharge tube raised over 15 in from the suction tube end. Work a lot better if you keep the gas can level with the gas tank... You can place the can on a chair or something to raise it up. It will last longer and work much better. I hope this helps.
Question:	does it pump from a vehicle to can
Answer:	No unfortunately the pump is too large to fit into the gas opening otherwise it has plenty of power to transfer the fuel.

Answer:	This is the cheapest way out just by a bare pump get yourself a piece of 1 inch threaded pipe that’ll go on the bottom of the pump get a piece of 10 gauge 2 wire that will power the pump by a roll of 1 inch hose and a 1 inch swivel and get an automatic nozzle that’ll be your best set up add a 1” in/out filter if you want

Answer:	This pump comes with an 18' DC power cord.
Question:	Can this pump pump 15w40 or diesel oils
Answer:	This is not a certified weights and measures sorta meter... as in not for use in sale of liquids dispensed. That is usually done by a county auditor office.
Question:	does it come with the rose
Answer:	Yes, this pump has a 2" bung but the suction tube max length is 34" so you will need to replace it with a longer pipe.

Answer:	Yes. It's vinegar. I wouldn't suggest drinking it but it is non toxic.

Answer:	I have had a small amount of fuel leak from there. I'm unsure of the cause. Still works. Leak is mininal at this time
Question:	Why can it not be used to transfer gasoline
Answer:	It comes with exactly whats in the picture. Pump, hose and pipe that's approximately 2 feet long.

Question:	If i use this for diesel, what do i need to do to then use it on a gas tank? how do i clean out
Answer:	The Extech MO50 takes quick Moisture level reference measurements (in percent %) on wood and building materials. The measurement range for building materials is Low: 1.5% to 16.9%; Medium: 17% to 19.9%; High: 20 to 33%. If the expected moisture percentage of the paper is expected to fall at or above 1.5% then the MO50 Compact Pin Moisture Meter would work appropriately.
Question:	We use a refrigerated tractor trailer for storage. Would this reach up to a tractor trailer tank? Would it fit that type of tank
Answer:	Thank you so much for your interest in our products. The MO53 is able to detect moisture at 0.8''. For the application you mention, I believe you can be interested in a different meter. From FLIR, we can suggest the MR176 using the MR12 ball probe. That will help you to get almost 4'' depth in the material.
Question:	The ad says "no more lifting." The directions say keep the supplying and receiving tanks at the same level. So what gives? Which is it
Answer:	Expect you would have to push the meter probes through the paint layer to get a good reading.
Question:	can this pump gas out of a car
Answer:	It really only measures moisture that is within 1/2" of the surface. For example I have a leaky toilet in a bathroom and the subfloor is saturated with water. I have to push the prongs through the surface of the flooring until it reaches the wet subfloor, in order to get a reading. If you need something for reading deep within a wall, you will need an invasive meter which has really long prongs that can be fed through test holes that you drill into the affected area. If you want to test deep within areas such as several inches, the only way is through destructive inspection, pinless moisture meters, and in some cases infrared cameras. extech is one of the most trusted meter brands and I am very happy with my purchase. It works best for measuring the moisture content of wood specifically at the test location. If there was a flood and the surface appears dry but you have some suspension as to what's going on several inches into the wall cavity, this meter will not help.

How to Operate

1. Find the adapter that is the best fit and make sure it is fastened tightly to your supply tank
2. Insert intake hose through the adapter and fasten the pump's joint nut tightly
3. Attach the discharge hose to your receiving tank using the clip, make sure the discharge nozzle is in a vertical position
4. Start the flow of fuel by pressing the ON button
5. After automatically stopping, bring the discharge hose up above the tank to drain the excess fuel or liquid back into the supply tank
6. put the discharge nozzle in discharge nozzle compartment and lock into place with clip

Answer:	The spout is 3/4 inch and will work with any type of hose that has a 3/4 inch (20mm) inside diameter. You can also contact the manufacturer about their spout reducer that reduces the spout to 12 mm.
