• How to use it?

First, connect the quick joint of the manual pump to the jack; then, select the position and tighten the drain screw of the hydraulic pump to work.

To lower the piston rod, please loosen the manual oil handwheel slightly counterclockwise, and the cylinder will discharge and the rod will gradually descend. Or the drop speed will be very fast, which is very dangerous.

• Why must it be placed on a flat surface?

All cylinders must be placed on a flat and resistant ground. If they are placed on sandy ground or on loose surfaces, the cylinder will be damaged.

• Why doesn't the piston fall back automatically?

After the pressure is relieved, the piston can only retract with the help of heavy gravity. It is recommended to pressed directly by hand.

• Is it safe to use this hydraulic jack?

This cylinder has a spring return structure. After lifting, it can be removed fastly, but the connected hose cannot be used to pull the cylinder. Since the jack's lift stroke is short, please never exceed the rated stroke to avoid defective.

The piston is 1.25" across, and the extending rod (which is threaded into the piston to give it extra lift when needed), which sits proud an eighth inch above the piston, is only .75 wide." I bought this jack for tire maintenance on my wife's 2012 Camry. The jack will go as low as 6" ( I needed something that was lower than the 6.75" clearance under the front struts.) Supposedly ( with the extending rod unscrewed almost all the way up) it'll go as high as 14.5." I've not used it but a few times, and so far no bleed down under load. Have a blessed day!

Answer:	I do not have the 4 ton unit. I have the 20 ton stubby with I think 4.5 inch lift. the top ram diameter is slightly over 1-5/8 inch (maybe 1.650 inch). there is also a rotating cast iron cap on top of the ram that measures 1-7/8 inch diameter. can't tell if this is removable or not.

Answer:	I never saw a Harbor Freight 2 ton engine hoist. However, in the product description for the Torin Big Red Long Ram Hydraulic Jack specifications, there are specifications for the ram. Read and compare the specifications with those of your ram and you'll know the answer to your question.
Question:	Does anyone know how long it takes for it to up and come down
Answer:	It's all manual, so the faster you pump the faster it goes up. It takes quite a few pumps to raise. Speed of lowering is based on how much open the valve. It behaves like a car floor jack, all controlled by the operator.

Answer:	No it doesn't swivel! The bottom mount is a double shear mount with a 1/2" or 9/16" hole. It's a strong jack though. I tested it for grins and once installed on my engine hoist the jack listed the entire front end of my 81 Ford Bronco 6" off the ground and held it for over and hour. I did this as a stress test for my engine hoist and the new jack....

• How to use it?

First, connect the quick joint of the manual pump to the jack; then, select the position and tighten the drain screw of the hydraulic pump to work.

To lower the piston rod, please loosen the manual oil handwheel slightly counterclockwise, and the cylinder will discharge and the rod will gradually descend. Or the drop speed will be very fast, which is very dangerous.

• Why must it be placed on a flat surface?

All cylinders must be placed on a flat and resistant ground. If they are placed on sandy ground or on loose surfaces, the cylinder will be damaged.

• Why doesn't the piston fall back automatically?

After the pressure is relieved, the piston can only retract with the help of heavy gravity. It is recommended to pressed directly by hand.

• Is it safe to use this hydraulic jack?

This cylinder has a spring return structure. After lifting, it can be removed fastly, but the connected hose cannot be used to pull the cylinder. Since the jack's lift stroke is short, please never exceed the rated stroke to avoid defective.

• Does the hydraulic pump come with hydraulic oil?
