Question:	can this work upside down. I want to make a press with it
Answer:	I have a similar jack used as the power ram for a press. I mounted it right side up and let the ram push against the top bar of the press frame and let the body of the jack rest on the movable press part. If you search for "hydraulic press" and get pictures of the smaller "home shop" style presses, you can see many that are set up that way. Mine works really well. Keeps the cost down because you can use an inexpensive bottle jack like this one rather than a purpose built hydraulic ram made to work inverted.

Question:	Does it come with a portable case
Answer:	No, but the box it comes in is pretty sturdy. If you remove the cardboard packing the jack easily slides back into the box. The inside bottom of the box is reinforced. Not sure how long it will hold up, but it’s better than nothing.

Answer:	A Cadillac CTS is roughly 4,300 pounds. Which is a little over the capacity of this jack. As long as you're placing it on jack stands and you don't leave the jack holding it too long, it should be okay. Although all the armchair experts on this site will implore you to buy a 3 or 4 ton jack. Just remember to always put the car on jack stands and do your work on a flat, level surface.

Answer:	The cup itself is 2 1/4 inches, with the inner portion (The part that spins freely, with the 4 tabs) 1 7/8ths, and the tabs extend about 1/4 inch up from the cup. Hope this helps.
Question:	What kind of oil does this take? The screw was loose when it was shipped to me and some oil had poured out into the box. I just want to top it off
Answer:	hydraulic jack oil. The screw IS loose upon arrival. If you read the SHORT instructions....this (grey) screw is HOW TO LOWER the jack when you are done lifting and have supported the weight/vehicle with jack stands. Turning just a bit using the handle you used to pump up the vehicle - you will notice it lower ever so gently. ONCE it is fully lowered - it is best to immediately turn the screw clockwise until it stops - this prepares the jack for its next use. Do this so you will not forget it is closed. IMO - some people with oil spewing - did not 'get it' how important it is to assure the valve is closed BEFORE raising the vehicle.

Answer:	This hydraulic pump develops between 2500 and 2800 psi and how much weight that pressure can lift is determined by the diameter of the hydraulic cylinder and the angle that the cylinder is relative to the load. A scissor lift on a dump truck, for example, doesn't lift straight against the bed but lifts the load at an angle to accomplish a higher lift than the cylinder could produce by itself. I used one of these pumps on a 20' dump trailer that can carry 20,000 lbs or more but the dump trailer has two very large two stage hyd cylinders that are 4' to 5" in diameter. The larger the diameter of the cylinder the more you can lift. This pump could lift a 100 ton load if it was connected to a very large diameter hyd cylinder. For a one ton dump truck this pump delivers about the same lift as a PTO driven pump that runs off of the transmission.

Question:	what is the GPM of this pump
Answer:	The Manual (rev 08-22-18) says 19.38" (with a lifting range of 15.75" meaning it starts at 3.63"). This means it's more than high enough to clear the highest parts of my 18" jack stands which are 18.5". In other words I don't need the separate jack pad shown on Amazon for extra height. BTW that so-called universal pad's smallest diameter is 4-1/16" which is 1/16" too big to fit in the 4" pad recess. Also the built-in pad seems very securely fastened, so I didn't want to rip it off unless I had an exact replacement with the appropriate glue. The part number for it is RSALJ3T38; I'm guessing the 38 means 3.875" dia.

Answer:	Steel plate saddle is 4 1/2". Rubber pad is a joke and worthless. I used it the 1st time, immediately made a new one from an old 1/2 thick mud flap from an 18 wheeler trailer, 4 1/4" diameter. Works great. I Would still buy the jack again.

Answer:	I don't believe there is a manual. You'll have to do a test run to find out for sure what side is A and what side is B. I don't think you can change the pressure, At least I am not aware of it. Port thread is British, best thing to do is take the port nipple to a hydraulic repair business and ask them for the correct connection for your pump, believe me this will save you days of hunting. You rotate the handle slowly and when it starts to lower you stop (or you can rotate back the other way to stop lowering it). I was impressed with the control you have, i.e., it's not like you turn it slightly and it just goes to a full release.
