Rub together with the other surface to distribute the glue evenly on both surfaces. Enough glue should be applied so that a fine bead of glue squeeze-out will occur when clamping. Coverage: One gallon of Gorilla Wood Glue will cover about 200 square feet. One fluid ounce will cover approximately 1.6 square feet. Clamping: The technique and type of clamp to be used is determined by many factors. In general, apply enough pressure that will cause a fine bead of glue to squeeze out when the proper pressure is applied. Clamping Time (amount of time pressure needs to remain applied): 20–30 minutes for room temperature applications. Do not freeze. The temperature must be above 55°F. Note that clamping time can be dependent on temperature, humidity, and the porosity of the wood. Cure Time (amount of time for glue to reach total bonding strength): 24 hours. Clean up while glue is wet: Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe off excess glue. When areas have completely dried, sand as needed. | Answer: | I’m going to answer first for crafts, then for the wood shop. Crafts: I would use the lower setting for gluing paper flowers, gluing fabric to foam, or gluing paper decorations to a picture frame. I would use the higher setting (100 Watts) for gluing fabric to wood (for permanent bond), for bonding plastic ‘gems’ to a picture frame or to a plastic jewelry backing. , For gluing GLASS or real crystals to a mirror or to a metal jewelry backing, I would use the 100 Watt (higher) setting. Be careful not to touch the actual metal tip to metal jewelry backings as the metal may discolor. Wood Shop: The 100 Watt setting will give a stronger more permanent bond for when I want to bond wood to wood and want it to stay ‘forever.’ If I wanted a temporary bond, like if I was bonding two pieces of wood only long enough to square up a piece of lumber, I would use the lower heat setting. if I’m only bonding long enough to keep wood in place while I placed screws, I would use a very few small dots with gun set to the lower temperature. Sand it, paint it, and stain it. Simply stated, it’s the Toughest Glue on Planet Earth. Directions: 1. Prepare and Dampen the Surfaces: All surfaces must be clean, dust free and tight fitting. For shiny surfaces, such as metals, glass and some plastics, roughen up the material to give the glue something to bite into. Lightly dampen one surface with water. We recommend using a damp cloth or spraying with water. Do not saturate the surface. For dense hardwoods, lightly dampen both surfaces prior to gluing. 2. Evenly Apply Gorilla Glue Onto the Dry Surface. Carefully apply onto the dry surface. Do not over apply. We recommend wearing gloves or spreading the glue with a disposable brush. 3. Clamp the Two Surfaces Together Tightly. Make sure the clamping pressure is distributed evenly across the surface. Or, if you don’t have a clamp, use heavy objects or Gorilla Tape to achieve the appropriate clamping pressure. Clamp objects for 1–2 hours. For best results, allow 24 hours to cure. 4. Clean up: If you need to remove any uncured “squeeze out” or wet glue, we recommend wiping with a dry cloth or using a standard paint thinner. Once the glue is dry, it is best removed mechanically: Try sanding, chiseling, scraping or picking. 5. Storage Tips: After each use, wipe the bottle’s lid and nozzle clean with a dry cloth. While still squeezing, tightly replace the cap and then store in a cool, dry place. You should expect a year shelf life. | Answer: | The glue swells as it dries, it would not be suited for gluing anything together that you would want to be perfectly flat and can not vice together. Since this glue swells according to how much you use, you would have to be pretty darn accurate per tile. |
| Question: | How do I get gorilla premium glue off my hands? I have tried thinners, turpentine, meths,petrol & hand cleaner |
| Answer: | First off, never use soap and water initially, or it will just make it alot harder (nearly impossible) to remove. The best solution I have found is to just use Goop all by itself first. The stuff with pumice seems to work best. Anyway, apply the Goop to your hands and rub them together vigorously, use one hand to wrap around each finger of the other a clean each finger individually, then repeat with the other hand, then sprwad your fingers on both hands and interlace them to get between all fingers. THEN (very important) wipe off your hands completely with a DRY paper towel or rag. If your hands still feel at all sticky, then do the above AGAIN. Once you have wiped off all the glue and most of the goop with the paper towels you can wash your hands if desired, but it would be best to wait if you can as the goop will continue to break down the slight glue residue. If after all this you still have sticky hands tyou can make them less annoying by applying talcum (baby) powder. |
