Answer:	If the bumpy concrete is on the cast steel, the brush can work, but the lifetime of the wire will vary with the hardness of the concrete. If it is on the concrete, I don't recommend it.

Answer:	The biggest problem with this and all brushes that thread onto a 5/8 arbor is that most 15/16ths wrenches are too thick to slip in around the nut. I solved the problem by cutting a piece of 1/4" thick 1-1/2" steel bar, cutting a 15/16" slot and welding it to the end of my spanner wrench to my angle grinder. Works great.

Answer:	I do not know how many wires this wheel brush has but by looking at the Forney web site this wheel has .008" wire size which seems to be the finest size they make.

Answer:	When I opened the package, I did not see the reducing bushing. I thought it fell out somewhere on the ground where I opened the package. When I installed this wheel on my 1/2 inch shaft grinder, it fit just fine. After 10 minutes of use, my grinder stopped working. I finally realized that the 1/2" to 5/8" reducing bushing was installed and is made out of plastic. It split and was the cause of my problem. I do not suggest using this wheel on a 1/2 inch shaft. Grinders can be dangerous if used improperly, this is not something to take lightly.

Answer:	The advantage to having a variable speed is two fold: The slower speed is generally used for sharpening and honing while the higher speed is for removing material faster and buffing/polishing with a polishing wheel or wire wheel. The slower speed creates less friction and therefore less heat while the higher speed (with a grinding wheel) creates more heat.

Answer:	It is nominally 1" wide as advertised. However, in reality it is more like 1-1/4" because a generous portion of the wires tend to flare out at the outside diameter, more so after it has been used a little bit due to reasonable pressure being put on the wheel by the item being brushed. If your concern is whether it is actually 1" wide and not skimpy, well it is not skimpy and is a good 1" wide. However, if your concern has to do with the available width in your grinder/wire-brush machine's semi-enclosed wheel housing, be advised that I would recommend at least a 1-1/2" width available inside the enclosure for the wheel to run in, 1-1/4" being bare minimum. On a related matter I would like to add that the wheel is not as well balanced as my old one was and I had to place rubber pads under my grinder's pedastel feet to keep it from gradually walking on my garage floor, which solved the problem. But with 7" wire wheels hard to find, I would purchase this again. It does a nice job. I hope this is helpful.

WEILER'S INDIVIDUAL KNOT HOLE CONSTRUCTION

Weiler’s knot wheels are constructed with an internal steel plate that has equally spaced individual holes around the perimeter. Wire is inserted through each hole and twisted into a knot. Each hole has precisely the same wire count, thereby assuring perfect balance. This eliminates vibration, reduces operator fatigue and increases brush life.
