Answer: I use my dremel tool. I think it is 1/8 inch.

Question: How do I attach the cylinder wheels on the their madrels
Answer: details say Grades: Coarse(black) / Mid-Coarse(white) / Fine(green) / Very Fine(brown)
Question: what number grit are these wheels
Answer: One of the mandrels have a pointed screw-like tip. I just twist and turn it into the cylinder until it is firmly embedded, and when I need to change to a different cylinder I use a plier to hold end of the mandrel and twist the cylinder off. I don't know if that's how it's suppose to be done, but it works for me. I hope this helps.
Question: There is not a pointed mandral for the cylinder pieces. How do I use them
Answer: I use these on glass and find the brown finest, then grey, green then black. The shaft is 2.35mm. Standard dremel is 3.175mm. But I also use the dremel chuck so that I can use any size shafts from 1.6mm to 3.175mm.
Question: What are the grits for each color? Also am i correct that the mandrel shafts are going to be slightly small in diameter for a Dremel without collets
Answer: I've used them on silver copper and brass. Not sure how they would work on different types of steel. There more for polishing metals. I always use a deburring tool or files on steel.

Answer: They actually leave scratches on silverware I try polishing, so I don't know for sure what would happen on gem stones. I haven't tried that as of yet.
