Answer:	It cuts upto 3/4"wide when it's thinner than 1/4". The included vice can't hold much wider than 3/4"wide material. The blade can cut wider (but not more than 3/4"max.) if the material is 1/4" and if the thickness is the max. allowed 1/2" you can cut upto 1/2" round (not 1/2"square). Answer:	Yes...mine came with a "shim" ring/washer preinstalled that I had to pop out to use on the 3/8" arbor of my die grinder.
Question:	Will this contaminate aluminum for welding
Answer:	The paint on the diamond part as well as the paint on the wheel itself will likely contaminate an aluminum weld unless carefully cleaned. Once the paint is off, there is no noticeable wear on the wheel itself. I used it on masonry for which it worked perfectly. On stainless, not as impressive. Whichever the material being cut, I did not see wear, and therefore do not think that it is likely that you will experience contamination from diamond particles and bonding material. Of course, for a clean weld you still need to clean the material after cutting.

Answer:	The 402K - specifically, "K" model, comes w/plastic case. It, the plastic case, is a $15 add-on to the base 402 model (sold here for $74).If that's what *YOU* ordered, that's what you should have.
Question:	I need to cut a 1" case hardened steel shaft - hardness C60 to .08" depth. Will this blade work
Answer:	there are many types of wheels avail. depending on what your grinding, ( steel, alum, ceramic, concrete ect). this grinder accepts a wheel with a 5/8 hole. the point is don't buy a wheel rated for less than 11000 rpm. they will come apart and injure someone.
Question:	can i cut #4 rebar with this blade
Answer:	**YES** Definitely for the DWE402 Type 2 model. How do I know? I have one in my grubby paws, even as fingers are put to keyboard. Type 2 is the variant w/ the black paddle switch in the approx. bottom middle of the tool housing. The paddle itself does not lock, having a rotating lock-out device to prevent accidental "ON" operation. To lock tool in the *ON* position, start the tool, depressing the paddle switch. Once up to speed, a small, black "lock" button positioned near the motor vents (can't recall whether right or left side of housing) can be depressed, locking the paddle switch in a position to maintain just slightly less than full 11K rpm motor speed. A Type 1 variant, w/ slide switch, has a similar "lock" feature. Reference to Type 1 and Type 2 is NOT to guard types, rather to the tool itself, designating variants in the DWE402 model. As to guards, looking high and low for a Type 1 guard. The tool came w/ Type 27 guard. Type 1 guard is *required* when using a cutting disc, rather than grinding disc. Part number for the needed guard is #N311419, either out-of-stock or back-ordered in DeWalt Service/Parts stores. Any one know where to lay grubby paws on this guard?

The "hardness" factor of these Makita 4 1/2" cutting wheels are on the scale of "Very Hard" and would not be recommended for the very hard brittle material of hardened high speed steel applications. Although the Aluminum Oxide material composition of the Makita 4 1/2" cutting wheel may help, it would not hold up very long and would lead to premature wear. In summary, these Makita 4 1/2" cutting wheels are not designed to cut hardened high speed steel, but if you absolutely need to make small cuts, they should be able to get you out of a bind.

Answer:	Excellent Question. 5/8" is the actual diameter size of the spindle found on the angle grinder. Almost every 4 1/2" angle grinders in the US have a 5/8" spindle diameter size. However, on 4 1/2" abrasive discs, the actual diameter of the arbor hole is 7/8". The 2/8" size difference is because of the locking and securing mechanism of both the "Inner Flange" and the "Lock Nut" of the 4 1/2" angle grinder. The Inner Flange and the Lock Nut maintain the stability and safety of the abrasive disc during operation. In other words, your Makita 4 1/2" X 3/64" X 7/8" abrasive disc will properly fit and work on your 4 1/2" X 5/8"-11 angle grinder. Lastly, as a side note, the "-11" refers only to the "Thread Count". "-11" is 11 threads per inch and is standard in the US.
