Answer:	The is a filter that needs to be cleaned. I was using a friend's unit. It was very week sucksion. It's where the bottom of tank seals to the unit. Where the sucksion pulls the waist water into the tank.

Answer:	It really wouldn't. For anyone reading this, it just doesn't have the proper brush to agitate carpet in such a way as to release ground in dirty or staining. A scrubbing brush, not a rotating vacuum brush is needed for deep cleaning.

Question:	Is the carpet supposed to be completely clean when the water is completely clear
Answer:	If you are sucking up clear water, yes the area you are cleaning should be clean. However I let mine dry, pretreated it again and went back over it to make sure and the penetrate deeper. It seemed to work. My carpet had an older set in pet stain that I didn't find right away.
Question:	does it pick up pet urine
Answer:	You need an enzyme cleaner to completely break down pet urine. Especially for cats. If you don’t remove all of the urine, it will eventually start to smell again and could cause the pet to pee there in the future.
Question:	what is the total weight and motor capacity
Answer:	The thing weighs about 12 pounds. I don't know what you mean by motor capacity, but if you go over the same area too many times it'll pull the carpet fibers up. My office was a mess. I had Stanley steamer come in a year or so ago and they did an okay job. This thing was 99 bucks and in 20 minutes did a fantastic job. I have white carpets that were gray and now their white again.

Answer:	While it comes with a smaller bottle (for one use), I ended up buying an oxy product specifically for pet urine and reshampooed the carpet. After drying, is now smells fresh.

Answer:	You would need to vacuum the soil first to get up all the debris. Then, when use this cleaner, it will get up all the spots. I have 4 dogs, and every spot they’ve left behind, this cleaner has cleaned them all up.

Answer:	If you take the cartridge in the back that holds the cleaner out, you should be able to just rinse and remove the residual soap!
Question:	How does this machine do with hair? No matter how much i vaccum, there is hair. Does it get stuck in the brushes too badly
Answer:	I have a cat so hair is a major problem for me. The Smartwash does pick up the hair and it can get stuck in the nozzle going to the dirty water tank. The brushes will stop. But it is fairly easy to clean both the nozzle and brushes. It is easy to disconnect the pieces to clean. This machine does a good job of cleaning. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. I do recommend that you follow the rinse instructions after using the cleaner. It rinses the carpet to remove the cleaning solution from the rug. All you do is remove the bottle with the cleaner solution and go over the carpet again with just clean water.
Question:	Does it heat the water
Answer:	no, we recommend using warm tap water to fill the Clean Water Tank.

Question:	How does this compare to the Rug Doctor
Answer:	My last Bissell lasted TWELVE years. I shampoo carpets 2-4 times a month (no choice-kids!). I borrowed a brand new Rug Doctor before I bought this Bissell. There is no comparison. This is better than Rug Doctor in EVERY way. Cleans so much better, works in BOTH directions (why RG doesn't do this is beyond me!). The tanks are H.U.G.E., so you're not constantly dumping and refilling. These carpets are cleaner than ever! With every other machine, I have had to use a homemade solution (with 1.5 cups of bleach per gallon), or my carpets wouldn't come clean. The Bissell Professional solution is all I need with this machine-I can't say enough how you will NOT find a better cleaner for this kind of money!
Question:	Is there any significant difference between the cleaning of the 10N2 Bissell big green deep cleaning machine and the Bissell Big green 86T
Answer:	helloMy research before I purchased the 86t3, trying to see what the difference was. This is what I found the 10N2 has a commercial warranty. When I look at the parts list for both machines. The 86t3comes with a hose kit which plugs into the top of the machine and allows you to do stairs and furniture, etc. The 10n2 does not come with the hose kit standard equipment. Other than that the parts list for both machines are identical. I bought the 86T3and it works very well. I can only assume that there would not be a difference in their performance.

Answer:	My dog is 12 yrs old and going through this stage, this thing ALWAYS gets the WORST of the stains and smells out. I also (just me, don't do this if your afraid of voiding a warranty or something) but I add a few drops of tea tree oil or peppermint oil to my water, shampoo mix and it always smells AMAZING for days after!! Plus both of those oils are natural flea and tick repellents (we live in the country) so that's how I clean mine. This machine has gotten every stain out I've had, except acrylic paints 😳 But it made them look somewhat better. Lol!! 3 kids and 2 dogs it's bound to happen.

Question:	What is the difference between this and the SteamVac also by Hoover
Answer:	I have been comparing them to decide which one I want, this one (hoover Power Scrub) has automatic mixing of the detergent solution and the water, so you can choose a water only (rinse) or water with cleaning solution. The SteamVac, you must mix the solution in the water tank, so in order to rinse you would have to completely empty out the clean tank and then add just water. The power scrub only turns off the scrub brushes when the handle is in the upright and locked position. The scrub brushes on the SteamVac can be adjusted for gentle, normal, and off. They both use heated air on the dry (suction) strokes to help with drying. It looks like the SteamVac might be a little cheaper but then it doesn't come with all the attachments the power Scrub does. In fact it is a little vague on which attachments come with it. I checked the owners manual for both of these for this information. The Power Scrub is about 2 pounds lighter than the SteamVac. The assembly of the SteamVac seems a lot more involved. I think I am about sold on the Hoover Power Scrb Deluxe carpet cleaner.
Question:	can the brushes be shut off
Answer:	There is a rubber flap on the back of the dirty water tank. If you open that, it breaks the airflow that drives the brushes. It won't pick up liquid while the flap is open though, so I spray and scrub with it open, then seal the flap to extract liquid. I'm not sure if that is the purpose of the flap, but it works.
Question:	Do i have to rinse after i shampoo? seems like an annoying extra step. never had a carpet cleaner that did that
Answer:	If you think of shampooing your carpet like shampooing your hair, it makes sense to rinse. Adding shampoo to you hair and then stepping out of the shower might make your hair clean, but it's not going to be soft. Long ago (LONG ago) when I shampoo'd carpets as part of my job, we were taught to think of it as hair: (a) Lay down a bit of water first; (b) apply shampoo; (c) rinse it out. If the carpeted area was heavy traffic, do just like the shampoo bottle says -- apply a second bit of shampoo, work it in, and then rinse it out. Over the years I've ALWAYS done that when cleaning my own 2500 sq feet of WHITE carpet in my house, and it always comes out fluffy, soft, and white. Even with several black dogs.
Question:	Would you recommend for pet owners? I have 4 pets and wonder if the pieces are easy enough to take apart to remove hair that will surely accumulate
Answer:	This was my first scrubber for carpets. I broke my ankle soon after I got it, so I only got to use it 3 times. I thought it did a good job on open areas. I did not like how it did close to the edges of the carpet where it meets the wall. I used it on steps and it did fine. One thing I remember is hold the dirty water container tightly when you go to empty it or the dirty water can spill out all over your work that you've done. Once you have figured out how to assemble and take apart, it is fairly easy then. I liked the fact that it gets the water up fairly well. For the money, I am happy with it, I have two cats. Must mention it takes some strength to work on steps and edges, as I used a large toothbrush. But the latter doesn't have anything to do with the animals, I was just giving you my opin of the machine.

Dimensions: 13.8 lbs Check for suction at the back of the unit after removing the hose where it attaches to the back of the unit. If there IS suction at the back of the machine with the hose removed, follow these steps: Unplug the unit from the outlet. Check the Pre- and Post-Motor filters for debris. Dirty filters can restrict airflow. The Pre-Motor Foam Filter is square. You can find it in a pull-out tray under the Dirt Tank. The Foam Filter may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Reinstall the filter when it’s completely dry. The Multi-Layer Post-Motor Filter is rectangular. It can be found on the side of the machine. Note: The white Multi-Layer Post Motor Filter isn’t washable. Make sure the dirt tank is empty. Check the upper tank for build-up or clogs. If it needs to be cleaned, use a short, Phillips-head screwdriver and take off the separator plate with a cloth (can be dampened with water or mild detergent). Replace dirt tank. Check for good suction at the end of the upholstery hose. If there’s good suction, make sure the hose is connected firmly to the lower hose on the back of the vacuum. If there’s no suction, check the hose for splits, cracks, or clogs. Make sure the Brush Roll is rotating. If it isn’t, take the access plate off and examine the brush and belt for damage. The access panel can be taken off by lifting the four tabs on the bottom of your machine. Clearing clogs detach the Upper Hose from the machine. Insert a broomstick into the hose to push any obstruction through. Remove the screw from the left side of the lower hose on the back of the unit. Straighten this section of hose by pulling it down or laying the unit on its side with the lower hose towards the top side. Look through the hose for any obstruction. Use a broomstick to unclog the hose. Power source - corded. Power rating: 3 amps.

Question:	How can I clean the suction brush head
Answer:	The brush head detaches from the hose. I clean it by running extremely hot water through it. You could even soak it in a warm water bath if needed. If there is a hair stuck inside the plastic portion, you can use an unbent page clip to dig it out.

Answer:	I have a spot-bot as well as a Bissell upright (about to buy this little green one) - and I use a zip tie - the kind you can use for bundling wires - very long and flexible - as long as the fuzz inside the suction head is still wet, a zip tie works really well for me!!

Answer:	Sorry to tell you this - I've had my first machine for yr and it worked fine until it would no longer spray- since it was old I thought some part must have worn out - and since it had given me many yrs of great service - I just went out and bought another one - I have had this new one for just about a yr and now the same problem is happening to this one - I've given up and use a spray bottle to apply solution and the machine to pick up the residue - I'll have to be in touch with the company - but this does seem like it could be a chronic problem.

Answer:	Yes, try suctioning up a small amount of water from a bowl to clean the brush head and hose of any debris or dirt. Hope this helps!
Question:	The water containers seem hard to empty out fully - not well designed. Is anyone having problems with that
Answer:	Yes! I was absolutely having issues emptying the dirty water tank. You can remove the plastic tank from the machine. There was a video that showed how to remove a section of that tank in order to open it up fully. I can't post the link here, but I hope this description helps. Take the dirty water tank off the machine. Then take the purple handle and move it up and over the tank. It will stick at the top and will look like it cannot go further, however, keep pressing gently but firmly and the handle will "give" slightly to allow it to go well over the top fo the tank, in almost a 180 degree change from where it was before. Now you can scoop your fingers under the top section and lift it off. You can see where the plastic looks like it will separate. Once separated, you can set the tank in the sink and clean both sides freely. I was afraid to push it over the top since it naturally stops there, but it does go over.
Question:	Many people say there is a defect were the hose meets the handle And it breaks does anyone know if bissel corrected this problem? Or do they give you
Answer:	I'm in the process of replacing mine because of the described problem. The hose do get brittle after so many usage, the the part of the hose connecting to the suction handle breaks. Problem is this model does not have a hose replacement. Also, I check around how to replace the hose and it looks like, it will take some breaking the machine apart to get to end of the hose connecting to the machine. BUMMER!!!
