I've been using up the rest of my thirty gallon bags and they fit well over the top holders and cling to the inner sides of the can. Answer:	No, it does not lock. NO a lock could not be installed in any manner that would not indicate you might live in a trailer. The lid opens with a foot step pad, so unless your dog figured out how to step on the pad, OR tip the whole can over(mine can't) your garbage would be safe.
