Answer:	No bucket, just a thick silver lining, that hasn’t caught fire! 😉 We usually put the cigarettes out before putting in there, they do burn against each other and smoke billows out of the opening. You just remove the neck and dump it out. Hope that helps 😉

Answer:	I'm not quite sure where you want the bag to stay tight -on the holders at the top? Along the sides and bottom? I've been using up the rest of my thirty gallon bags and they fit well over the top holders and cling to the inner sides of the can. Answer:	There is a mechanism that slows down the speed of the lid as it closes. If you put the bag in incorrectly, the bag makes it even harder to close. Drape the bad over the two steel hoops inside the unit, and it will close (slowly) correctly.

Question:	Does the bag rip when you take it out because the can is bigger then the opening
Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.
Question:	Has any body use the electrical adaptor instead of the batteries?, and how it work out
Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)

Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	Mine measures exactly 25 9/16”, which is 25.56”. The lid has a step opener which is very nice when you need to throw out wet, dripping, stuff. In a pull out drawer you might not be able to use this feature.

Answer:	Square. I've never had any issue in filling it, packing it down when close to full, spillage, etc. due to its shape. BTW, Costco 33 gallon trash bags are a perfect fit, with enough loose plastic remaining to easily accommodate the load and simplify tying it up for toss out.

Answer:	Yeah...I also have kids so slipping is a general problem as is. The fit is pretty snug so you have to like, precisely put the bag on and not overfill it like you probably would with other cans.
Question:	What is the exact height with the lid open? I have 35.5” clearance
Answer:	You'll have enough clearance to open it most of the way but it will bang against whatever is over it because I just measured mine to be close to 37" at full open.

Answer:	do not step on the foot pedal but when the lid is closed slowly lift it up all the way ... the secret is to not use the foot pedal just use your fingers to lift the lid up

Question:	Does the back of the can rest flat on the wall or is there a hinge that sticks out
Answer:	There is a hinge on the back that does stick out. I couldn't have mine rest flat on the wall anyway due to the baseboard. If you have a baseboard it should rest flat against it. I took a pic but not sure how to let you see. I'll try and upload it on my original review.
Question:	I need this for on our deck to keep birdfood in. Squirrels chew through plastic containers. Would this keep them out if I disable the pedal
Answer:	Unless the squirrels learn how to lift lid manually. Not sure how long it would last being outside in the weather.

Answer:	If you put this up against the waill, the top and hinge WILL HIT THE WALL EVERY TIME IT'S OPENED! I mistakenly trusted several of these answers that say it will not hit the wall, but on the trash can i received, the lid definitely does hit the wall.

Answer:	Yes it did fit. There were NO instructions how to assemble so we had to go on line to figure out how to pull the clamps apart to get them to fit properly. Once that was figured out, these fit great!!
Question:	The lid doesn’t close on its own after you take foot off the pedal? That means you still have to touch it to close it each time
Answer:	If you have a g01 x3 with roof rails it fits perfectly fine. You need to extend the rails before putting them on. There's a bolt on top on either side under the rubber seal. Unscrew them and adjust to side. Then tighten them up and put the rubber seal into place. Once they are sized properly ( the front ones will be wide than back), you can tighten them with on the side.
