Answer:	I just went in to check this out for you. The top knob screws off completely. There is a 1.5 inch screw that holds the knob to the shaft. However, the shaft is made of metal and the metal is hollowed inside. Then, there is super hard plastic inside the metal that receives the 1.5 inch screw. I tried to screw the knob back in and it does not go back in! So, now my piece is damaged, but I think hubby can remedy that. Weird, huh? I hope this helps!
