Answer:	The mattress that we bought for the bunk bed was the standard bunk bed mattress which I wouldn't suggest because the wood makes it extremely to have to lift with one hand while making both the top and bottom. But we bought identical bunk bed mattresses which we will more then likely swap out next month. But they're about 9 to 12 inches thick.

It is very sturdy after assembly, it could hold 2 adults on bottom and one adult on top. My daughter sleeps on top bunk and is 140 lbs.......I would say it could easily hold up to 200-230lbs (adult) on top bunk. Plenty long because it's a twin XL, my daughter is 5'10''. Hope that helps.

Answer:	We used a queen mattress and boxspring on the bottom and it worked fine. The higher the mattress, the smaller the sleeping space is from the bottom of the top bunk though
Question:	Can you use it just as a loft bed or do you need to put the bottom bed on as well
Answer:	You'd need to use the other frame of the bottom bed, but you don't have to install the cross bars that actually holds the mattress on the bottom. It would allow you to walk underneath the top bunk but you would have to step over the outer frame.

Answer:	The clearance is 56".
Question:	I have a queen size mattress will this be too big for this bed frame
Answer:	This is a full size. A queen sized mattress will not fit. I have two of these beds.
Question:	What is the head clearance and how thick can the mattress be without exceeding the rails
Answer:	I'm 6 ft and can set up just fine without hitting my head on the cielling. I have a 10 inch memory foam mattress on mine and there is about a 7 inches of the rail above the mattress. Hope this helps
