Question:	Is there a moisture/mold problem with these honeywell fire/water chests? i'm seeing a lot of complaints in the reviews
Answer:	We have been using one in Portland Oregon for about six months and have never had any problem with mold or mustiness in any safe we've used over the past 30 years. Today, I opened this safe for the first time in a few months, greeted by the smell of mildew. We do use a small dessicant packet inside, and the average humidity in our home hovers around 45%. We will need to arrange either a better dessicant or a different safe!
Question:	All 3 of the product specs have different sizes. Can someone tell me the exact outside dimensions by height, width, and depth including the lock
Answer:	From left to right when facing the lock and latches the width is exactly 12 3/8". From front to back, the depth is 9 7/8" for the box but including the silver lock cylinder which protrudes out the front add an extra 1/4" so a full 10 1/8". This does not include any space for inserting the key or opening the top of the box which needs additional space as the top swings up. The height of the box when closed is 7 1/4". Answer:	Yes is a cheaper safe. One Code only is allowed and if you punch wrong code in when locking your forced to use the backup key to get in.

Answer:	It is a large safe on the inside. Could fit two bar drawers in it. However it seemed poorly made and we kind of got what we paid for. Might be great at home but not for a commercial setting.

Answer:	I’m not too sure now since I don’t have the original documents. From what I remember, it wasn’t all that heavy for me. I was able to carry to the second floor in my house without assistance. I’d say it was in the 50 to 75 lb range. In other words, moving this safe from room-to-room or short distances is manageable. I hope this helps you with your decision. JV

Answer:	Gillermo ... you are 100%, absolutely, positively correct about WD40 ... It's not a lubricant, far from it. We used it to loosen stuck/rusted head bolts on engines. How WD40 ever got the reputation as a lubricant is beyond me. Just wanted to validate your honest answer. Peace. : )

Answer:	The empty weight is between 90 and 100 pounds, 'closer to 100 than 90'. If you purchase it I would advise to also purchase the 4 wheel cart that is available to sit it on for moving. You will be much happier with it if you do. Hope this answers your question and also helps you make a wise purchase.

Answer:	I'm going to have to say yes. Mine was damaged just by shipping requiring me to send it back and get a replacement.
Question:	I can't open the filing cabinet, it is locked and I have no key upon delivery. Anybody else run into this problem
Answer:	Mine came without keys too, nothing fun about picking your own lock to get something opened and then order another set of keys for it. Plus, the flimsy plastic latches broke and they wouldn't replace them or sell me the parts, claimed its a "special" construction... aka roll pins on the latches to the box, nothing hard or fancy. Not impressed with the box or the customer service.

Answer:	Unfortunately, this safe is only an anti-theft unit. It is not rated for fire or water.
Question:	Are these truly waterproof
Answer:	No you can't. That is one of the many issues I have with it. I wouldn't recommend buying. The key pad is loud. The faceplate is made of cheap plastic. The battery compartment is also plastic and broke the first time I opened it to place the batteries in. The outside bottom portion has no cushion and it isn't smooth so it will scratch a desk, nightstand or whatever you place the safe on.

Answer:	I just looked on this site because we couldn't find the key either or get it open...but Thks to these Q and R we found it taped to styrofoam also! So helpful Thks so very much!😀
Question:	Looking into getting a fire/water proof safe. In the past we have had Sentry,unfortunately things get moldy after a while. Any experience on this one
Answer:	I have had mold problems with other safes also and this one will be no different. Good news/bad news is that it is air tight. So I've used DampRid containers in the safe which do work perfectly. But of course you have to ensure you don't tip the container over or the captured moisture and residue will coat the bottom. After a few weeks with the first DampRid usage it seems as those the problem does not return if the safe isn't opened too often. But as a precaution I leave one in anyway for years with no noticeable new moisture. I've constructed a minature version of the DampRid container so it doesn't occupy a lot of space.
Question:	My Latches are broken, can I buy replacement latches
Answer:	Mine arrived with the plastic latches broken. I contacted the seller who said I could return the item for another one, but they couldn't just provide new latches. I decided the keep the chest and not worry about the latches. They would be worthless in a fire, and the weight of the lid (plus the key lock) keeps it closed anyway.
Question:	Does this really protect "digital media" as described? manual says ul test remain below 177c but kingston usb drive spec max temp at 85c, sandisk 70c
Answer:	To protect digital media you not only need a special container built to withstand heat tolerances for digital media, you need to protect your data from an EMP surge. The Honeywell Model 1108W is a good unit for paper files.

Answer:	Not that I am aware. There's a small amount, but it's more a function of the design of the bottle cap rather than the dispenser (in my opinion).
Question:	Hot and cold water lights aren't working. Yellow light is. How do get all lights to work
Answer:	I have noticed the hot and cold lights only come on when it is "making more" hot or cold water. Once the perspective reservoir is full, the corresponding light shuts off.
