| Answer: | Yes, but when they say 15 pounds per cube they mean it. I weighed my books to be sure I only had 15 pounds, and a little bump knocked the shelf loose. I had to take out all the books and snap it together again. This is cheap and pretty, but not heavy duty. |

You can leave the fabric sleeve off of a tier and you can actually leave the front rod off of one tier if you want and the unit will remain stable (I tested that). If you leave a rod out the unit will look a bit unfinished but it will function perfectly fine. |
