Answer:	In my opinion, its fine to keep using it as long as it did not crack. If it cracked, you will not get as much insulating from it since the insulating layer is exposed.

Answer:	It creates a vacuum seal, so it might be a bit tough. But what I do is I pour hot water, then put in the hot food, close it up, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then open it again to let some of the main steam out, and then not close it all the way tight. Hope that helps!
Question:	I can't decide between two Thermos 16-ounce food jars - the Stainless Steel King or the Stainless Steel food jar (plum or teal colored). Any recommendations on which is better
Answer:	I have the Thermos King and the Thermos Nissan food container, both 16 oz. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both do a great job of keeping products cold/hot. The Thermos King is a little shorter and wider and the Nissan is slightly taller and narrower. The Thermos King has the lid for the jar (with the fold up spoon) and a stainless steel cap that goes over the lid. The Nissan just has the plastic lid for the jar. The King looks like it might be more insulated (?-guessing here just by the looks and the weight). I have the midnight blue Thermos King and it's a nice color, almost black with a hint of the blue under the light. The Nissan is all stainless steel with a black cap. Regarding the SS Food Jar (plum or teal) I can't say specifically since I do not own this version however, comparing the 2 products I think I would go with the King because it of the 2 lids/caps and the spoon and might be more insulated. The food jar keeps hot for 7 hours and cold for 9 hours. The Thermos King keep food hot for 9 hours and cold for 12 hours.

Answer:	Soup and stews stay hot for a long time. I leave to work at 5:30am and have lunch around 1, and it is always hot. When it comes to food that is not liquid or in sauce, like baked fish and veg, it is still warm 7-8 hours later, but not as much as soup and liquids which stay very hot for hours.

Answer:	As of fall of 2016 they were still offering the gaskets. I think I just sent 5 bucks and asked them to send as many gaskets as that would buy. They sent 3 - but not just the gasket but the entire plastic lid as well.

Answer:	I drop mine a lot. That's why i started buying metal ones, they just dent instead of shattering like the plastic ones do. Mine didn't dent until the 15th or 20th drop. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers since they may dull the finish.

Do not use bleach or cleaners containing chlorine on any parts of the product.

This product is top-rack dishwasher safe; however, hand washing is recommended as the dishwasher uses harsher detergents and hot water that may affect the appearance of your product.

Residual liquids, foods, or other contents may become trapped between product components, such as lid parts, container parts, gaskets (flexible band around lid and/or stopper), or straws (if present in the product). Although this product is top-rack dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to ensure that all parts of the product are thoroughly cleaned

For maximum thermal efficiency, preheat or pre-chill the product just prior to use. Fill with hot/cold tap water, attach lid, let stand 5 to 10 minutes and empty water. After filling container with contents, re-cover with lid to increase thermal efficiency. Never use a microwave, conventional oven, or other heat source for this purpose.

Assembly and Use

1. Remove lid (A) by twisting counterclockwise.

2. Remove spoon (B) (if present) by pulling up on it.

3. Open container (E) by twisting stopper (C) counterclockwise.

4. Remove gasket (D) from underside of stopper (C).

5. Wash all parts separately, then re-assemble. Ensure gasket (D) is properly seated to minimize leaking.

6. Fill container (E) with contents. Do not overfill: Leave space for stopper (C), to avoid overflow.

7. Replace both stopper (C) and lid (A) by twisting clockwise.

Note: Spoon (B) (if present) snaps into top of stopper (C) when fully folded and aligned.

Answer:	The non-thermos sections are double walled with air insulation in between. It'll keep food cool + fresh, but not cold. For really cold food, we suggest dropping in a small ice pack.

Answer:	As others have stated, it is designed to be used without a bag, however, I just use a basic flat insulated zippered kids lunch bag that can be found at most big box stores, Target and Walmart for example. Sorry that I can't insert a photo here. I'd suggest going to the omielife.com website for dimensions and I know that I've seen a few lunch bags here on Amazon that would work.
