Answer:	It is made in China. However, it is very sturdy, well made & really does the job. I have two dogs & it works well on furniture. I've bought numerous products & this one works the best. Answer:	I would not recommend it. It seems to me that it would damage the stiffness of the fabric that it is made out of and, therefore, not pick up lint as well, afterwards. Also, it is a dark red color dyed onto a non-pourous fabric- I would worry that the color may bleed out onto something that you don't want red. I know that it is designed to be used dry and on dry fabrics and it is to be cleaned by running your hand across the fabric (moving with the grade of the fabric). If you decide to get it wet- please do let us know what happens, just out of curiosity 樂

The reason is that the wheels on the sides are a larger diameter than the lint roll, so if you roll it on a wood table, for example, the lint roll won't touch the surface.
