Answer:	I'm not sure exactly how many pounds, but they are very durable and can carry many cans of canned food (easily carries 8 cans). I have not had any tear.

I've been using them for about a month, most for weekly lunch prep holders (cut up vegetables and lunch meats) and the zippers have worked great. No problems opening or closing the bags. Answer:	I've never tried the defrosting function on my microwave, but you should be able to use these storage bags. They are dishwasher safe, but some previous comments don't recommend using high temperatures. Defrost doesn't get too hot, so I think you'd be safe with this product.

Answer:	No, I would not recommend buying these. With very gentle use and handwashing about half of the bags I purchased developed holes along the seams. Some after only 2 or 3 uses. I was very disappointed. The cheap bags I got at TJ Maxx have lasted so much better than these.
