Answer:	The glass is but not the lid.

Answer:	I guess that would depend on what you're planning to use it for..these are the only ones I've seen that completely partition each section. The lids have a T shape to seal each compartment, so if there is liquid in one it would not spill to the others. The other sets you mentioned, the glass partitions sit lower and the lid does not completely seal them, so if it tips slightly and you have liquid in one section it will leak into the other compartments. I think they're awesome, especially since I'm not really a microwave user, now I don't have to use a bunch of small dishes to reheat leftovers! Hope this helps!
