Answer:	Yes. The containers would definitely work for dry dog food; however, the containers fail to stay snapped closed (fasten). I have to repeatedly resnap ultimately ruining the freshness of the contents. I reported this in my feedback but did not receive any corrective suggestions.

Answer:	I don't know how difficult it is for you, but I think the plastic lid is easy to lift. And I've had many different plastic containers where it was very hard to open and close. I am very happy with this product. But where you lift the lid, the piece is small, so keep that in mind.
