Answer:	Hello and thank you for your question. The iron rim is designed to sit around the edge of the wood however it is not stuck flush to the wood. We find that in general the gap between the wood and iron is no more than 1mm. In the unlikely event that crumbs found their way into the gap, you have access from both the top side and the bottom side from which you could use a fine brush to simply clean it. Answer:	Hi Monique, I couldn't help but ponder your question about putting your Kombucha Vessel on our friend, Susan...I talked with my husband about it over dinner. While we don't have a Kombucha Vessel, we thought maybe we could rummage around the house and see what we might be able to come up with that weighs 40-ish LBS. We thought it would be fun to bring our findings to the dinner table and try them out. My hubby found 3 ladies bowling balls in the garage- each weighing between 12-15 LBS, our 8 year old nextdoor neighbor dropped by and we thought, "hey, why not?" and (thanks to Jerry McGuire) 5 human heads- all weighing 8 LBS each. Answer:	I don't have any 4-oz. jars (the largest I have is 3.8 but most are under 2 oz. I have many short jars from Penzey's that I can stack but otherwise, if you take the height (this lazy susan is approx. 5.25" between the two levels) and the diameter of your jars you should be able to guestimmate how many you could store. I use mine for spices, bottles (vanilla, etc.), baking powder tins, etc., so mine is not all spice jars. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
