Answer:	I've never used it like that but I would guess that if the meat is only slightly frozen you wouldn't have a problem. Just be careful when you slide the meat through the slicer.

You can adjust the thickness, have to put the protection part on the machine, your bread on to it, hold the 2 buttons down and lightly push the bread forward. It does very thin to thick slices with ease. Once you have the machine in front of you it nearly explains itself.

Answer:	The parts that are stainless steel are the ones that appear light gray in the photos. Thus, the wrap from front to back on the left side and the cover for the plastic coffee cone basket are all stainless steel. The balance is plastic and appears well made and heavy. One reviewer cautioned on the height 14.5"; this fits comfortably under my 18" counter/cabinet space.

Answer:	Yes, it does beep toward the end of brewing time. However, do not pour a cup as soon as it beeps, because coffee is still coming into the carafe for a few more seconds (after it beeps). If you pull out the carafe too soon, you will get some coffee onto the warming plate. As a separate issue; the beep is not loud, so it should not be objectable to you as too loud (if that's an issue).

Answer:	I'm replacing my old, 1960's era slicer which I bought 20 years ago and as far as I know it's never been sharpened, and still cuts great. It has steel gears and a removable motor and is still in working shape, but has seen better days.

Answer:	I use it to cut cheese all of the time and have not had any blade bending or warping, the blade gets thicker the further you get from the edge till it is about 1/4 to 1/2" thick I want to say. Now for the motor slowing, yes, but unless you look at high end restraint slicers I think you will run into slowing on all of them.

Tips on making jerky

Your meat should be as lean as possible. Using lean meat will help the meat dry faster and aid in cleanup by decreasing fat drippings. Ground beef should be 80% to 90% lean. Ground turkey, venison, buffalo and elk are other excellent choices for jerky.

Your jerky gun has NESCO/American Harvest seasonings included and are available commercially for all tastes. Whenever you make jerky, be sure to use the cure (sodium nitrite). The cure is used to help prevent botulism during drying at low temperatures.

Keep meat and poultry refrigerated at 40°F (5°C) or slightly below; use or freeze ground beef and poultry within 2 days; whole red meats, within 3 to 5 days. Defrost frozen meat in the refrigerator, not on the kitchen counter.

Special considerations must be made when using venison or other wild game, since it can become heavily contaminated during field dressing. Venison is often held at temperatures that could potentially allow bacteria to grow, such as when it is being transported. Refer to the USDA Meat and Poultry Department for further questions or information on meat and food safety.

Dry meat at 160°F (71C) until desired doneness. Drying times may vary based on many circumstances including but not limited to: the relative humidity of the room, the temperature of the meat at beginning of drying process, the amount of meat in the dehydrator, leanness of meat, etc. Always allow jerky to cool before taste testing.

Answer:	There's a small rubber flap to keep crumbs etc from getting into the hardest to clean place (located at 7 O'clock as you face the blade) It's the only place where cleaning requires extra attention. Otherwise, it cleans up easily.

Answer:	If the meat is partially frozen, it does a fine job.

Dry fruit, vegetables, and jerky in hours instead of days. The unit's patented Converga-Flow drying system forces air down the exterior pressurized chamber, then horizontally across each individual tray, converging in the center, for fast, even, and nutritious drying. Flavors don't mix, and there's no need to rotate the trays. It's top-mounted fan eliminates the worry of liquids dripping into the heater chamber, and an opaque Vita-Save exterior helps block harmful lights in order to retain more of the food's nutrients and vitamins during the drying process. The unit's adjustable thermostat ranged from 95 degrees to 160 degrees F, providing the flexibility needed to ensure excellent results. It's a 600 watts unit. Five trays come included, but the unit can be expanded to 12 trays (additional trays sold separately) for drying larger quantities at one time. Accessories include two fruit roll sheets, perfect for drying semi-liquids like soups, sauces, and fruit rolls; two Clean-A-Screen flexible screens, which allow for easy drying of small items such as herbs, spices and potpourri; and three original jerky spice packets for making jerky. A 52-page recipe and instruction book also comes included. With a speckled gray design, the food dehydrator measures approximately 13-inch by 13-inch by 10-inch. FD-75A is Frustration free packaging and FD-75PR is retail packaging. Trays/base can be washed on the top rack of your dishwasher if you remove them before the drying cycle. Question:	The owners manual states to use "precooked or processed" turkey when making turkey jerky to avoid harmful bacteria. Has anyone used raw turkey
Answer:	This dehydrator only goes to 160 °F. USDA says poultry needs to be taken to 165 °F to kill the bacteria. From USDA"Why is it a food safety concern to dry meat without first heating it to 160 °F? The danger in dehydrating meat and poultry without cooking it to a safe temperature first is that the appliance will not heat the meat to 160 °F and poultry to 165 °F — temperatures at which bacteria are destroyed — before the dehydrating process. After drying, bacteria become much more heat resistant."
Question:	Is this loud or quiet? I had one before and the loudness drove me nuts to where I couldn't use it
Answer:	It makes a nice background white noise that you could use to help you fall asleep. If you want to set it on the kitchen table between yourself and someone else you're trying to have a conversation with, it is too loud for that. I don't think it was your food dehydrator that drove you nuts. ;)

Answer:	I found that you can replace the belt with a 150J10 belt.you can enter that into a Google search or eBay The belt is actually 14.5" 10 rib, but the closest I found was a 15" 10 rib and it works great.

Answer:	Anthony , Hi I know exactly what your up against, we were able to remove the screws ( ONCE ) the next time the first one we tried to unscrew the Phillips head started to strip even after taking tension off the blade with the big black knob. The reason these screws are a P/A to get loose is the screws are alumanum I'm sure you know , alumanum has its on form of rust and mixed with stainless steel it causes a electrolysis that reacts fast in breaking down its own self. go to Home Depot in the tool department there is a packege MADE BY HUSKY TOOLS that is a screw extractor, ( NOT THE TWIRLEY ONE THAT SWIRLED DOWN AS IT TAPERS DOWN FROM TOP TO THE TIP. IT WILL DO YOU NO GOOD .......The one I'm talking about is two or so inches long ,the shaft is about the size of a 10 penny nail ,the screw extracting tip looks sorta like a letter S with a sharp point in the middle of the S , the curves in the S Are sharp . This is for sticking into a striped out Phillips head right handed screw ( WHICH YOURS IS ) use your drill and run it in REVERSE SLOW. the extractor will cut into the screw and turn it out. Not trying to say your ignorant by any means , but remember most of the time it's LEFTY LOOSIE. RIGHTY TIGHTEY ...OR how ever it spelled ,looks like am ignorant . There is a drill bit in the packege also but you should not have to use it. On the market there are LEFT handed drill bits that drill holes by using a drill in reverse. This works very well in removing striped screw heads . Most times you will have to purchase these from a tool truck like SNAP ON or other tool company's that cater to auto garages. There not cheap. Long winded but hope this helps . This husky screw extractor is about $ 10 to 12 bucks. Yea I said the same thing. Good day
